Assault Charges

1) A 21 year-old female was arrested on the 10th of September just after 5 pm and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with her husband at their east end residence around 4:30 yesterday afternoon and assaulted him by pushing and choking him. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 35 year-old female was arrested on the 10th of September at 6:45 pm at her centrally located residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that one the 10th of September around 6:30 pm the accused got into a verbal argument with her common-law husband at their residence and assaulted him by slapping him in the face. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of October.

Fraud, Breach & More

35 year-old Sean Reid of 141 Sutton Place was arrested on the 10th of September at 4:51 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of fraud, one count of false pretence and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 10th of September around 4:30 pm the accused attended at Sears and removed price tags off of some children’s clothing and placed them in bags. A few moments later the accused went to a Sears cashier counter and attempted to return the clothing for a cash refund of $59.97. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused is to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Two Charged with Possession
20 year-old Caile Appleton of 191 Plaintree Drive and 19 year-old Stephen Stadnik of 48 Koprash Court were arrested on the 10th of September at 9:16 pm on Albert Street East and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 10th of September at 9:16 pm the two accused were checked by city police behind a downtown bar and at the time they were found to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of cocaine. The drugs were seized and they were both arrested. They are to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Perjury

32 year-old Emily Yeoman’s of 40 Hynes Street was arrested at the court house on the 10th of September at 11:15 am and charged with one count of perjury. It is alleged that on the 10th of September the accused attended court on some outstanding matters and at the time she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for perjury from the 24th of August. It is alleged that on this date the accused lied while testifying under oath in bail court. She was arrested and is to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Spanish Man Charged with two Counts of Breach

35 year-old James Southwind of 141 Front Street in Spanish Ontario was arrested at the court house on the 10th of September at 10:50 am and charged with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that one the 10th of September the accused attended at court on outstanding matters and at the time he was wanted on outstanding warrants for breach of probation. He was arrested and is to appear in court on the 15th of October.

Break & Enter

An attempt break and enter was reported yesterday to the Red Rock Acres Contracting office on Yates Avenue. It appears that sometime overnight from the 9th to the 10th of September the power and phone lines were intentionally severed. No entry was gained.

Car Accident

City police were called to a single motor vehicle collision yesterday around 1:46 pm on Black Road that resulted with the 21 year-old male driver being sent to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver was proceeding northbound on Black Road when he lost control after veering sharply to the left. The vehicle left the road way and entered the ditch area on the west side of Black Road. The vehicle, a 2006 ford truck received severe damage. No charges have been laid and the accident investigation is continuing.
