The following eleven persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1. Daniel Brochu, age 32, of 544 Second Line W. On Friday October 5th city police officers stopped Mr. Brochu for a highway traffic act infraction.
The following eleven persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1. Daniel Brochu, age 32, of 544 Second Line W. On Friday October 5th city police officers stopped Mr. Brochu for a highway traffic act infraction. Upon checking the CPIC system it was discovered that he was wanted on two warrants. Mr. Brochu was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of failing to appear for court and one count of fail to appear for fingerprints.

2. Brandon Gough, age 18, of 33 Cupp Dr., Pinewood, Ontario. On Thursday October 4th the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was notified by a computer repair shop that child pornography was detected on a computer that was in for service. As a result Brandon Gough was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography, one count of make child pornography available and one count of transmitting child pornography. It is alleged that the accused downloaded child pornography onto his
computer and then made it available for others to share his files.

3. A 43- year--old female was arrested on Friday evening and charged with one count of break and enter, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening death. It is alleged that on Friday October 5th the accused broke into the downtown residence of her boyfriend, assaulted him by striking him with a dinner plate and then grabbed a knife and threatened to kill him. The victim did not receive any injuries.

4. Sara McCulloch, age 26, of no fixed abode. It is alleged that on Sunday October 7th the accused was arrested by city police for being intoxicated. Upon investigating the accused it was learned that she was breaching two conditions of her release documents - not residing at a certain address and by consuming alcohol. When the accused was being arrested she also resisted police. She is now charged with one count of resist arrest and two count of breach of a recognizance.

5. A 47-year-old female was arrested and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on Saturday October 6th the accused, while at the residence of her common-law boyfriend, damaged all the power cords in the apartment.

6. Teagan Anderson (male), age 18, of 113 Anderson Rd, Warren, Ontario. It is alleged that early Sunday October 7th officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service stopped a vehicle being driven by the accused and observed several plastic baggies containing an illegal substance on the front seat of his vehicle. The accused was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.

7. A 53-year-old male was arrested on Saturday October 6th and charged with two counts of breach of probation and three counts of breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that at approx. 11:00 pm on Saturday October 6th the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend, harassed her and refused to leave her residence. At the time of these offences the accused was on release documents with conditions that he not harass or annoy the victim.

8. A 40-year-old male was arrested and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on Sunday October 7th the accused assaulted his common-law- girlfriend by slapping her in the face several times. The victim did not suffer any injuries.

9. Marc Fortier, age 29, of 379 Lake St. Apt # 4. It is alleged that on Sunday October 7th at approx. 8:11 pm the accused was driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Boston Ave. The accused failed to stop for police and a short pursuit was initiated. Police terminated the pursuit, after three minutes due to public safety concerns. During the pursuit the accused reached speeds of approx. 80 kms and failed to stop for several stop signs. At approx. 8:30 pm city police located the accused at the rear of 379 Lake St. During the arrest the officers located a .20 gauge shotgun in his vehicle and a small amount of marihuana. The accused was also found to be impaired by alcohol. The accused is charged with one count possession of a substance, one count of impaired driving, one count of drive over 80mgs, one count of dangerous driving, one count of flight from police, one count of resist arrest and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

10. Terry-Lynn Syrette, age 37, of no fixed abode. It is alleged that on Monday October 8th the accused falsely identified herself to police to avoid being arrested on a warrant. At the time of the offence the accused was wanted for being unlawfully at large. She is charged with one count of personation and one count of breach of an undertaking.

11. A 32-year-old male. It is alleged that on Sunday October 7th at approx. 5:00 am the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and assaulted her on two occasions. The first assault was a punch to the head and the second assault consisted of the accused pushing the victim into a coffee table.

R.I.D.E. Program

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service operated a R.I.D.E. program on Friday and Saturday. The following statistics were gathered:

1056 vehicles were stopped
20 roadside tests were performed
4- 12 hour suspensions were issued
1 person was arrested for impaired driving
1 person was arrested for refusing a breath sample
3 other criminal code charges were laid.

Seeking Assistance

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a driver. On Saturday October 6th at approx. 2:15 am a vehicle being driven northbound on Pim St. struck the guard rail in front of 50 Pim St. The driver of the vehicle left the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle in question was a 1999 black Pontiac 2 door vehicle. Anyone having information on this incident is requested to contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Traffic Unit

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating two break and enters reported over the weekend.

A break-in was reported to an apartment building in the 100 block of Wilding Ave. Taken was money and jewellery.

A break-in to the JB Variety located at 15 Queen St. E. resulted in the theft of an unknown quantity of cigarettes.

COMPLAINTS OF MISCHIEF THIS PAST WEEKEND.

Vehicles and houses had their windows broken in the following locations:

The 600 block of Queen St. E.
The 600 block of Queen St. W.
The 300 block of Queen St. E.
The 100 block of Forest Ave.
The 500 block of John St.
