Two Domestic Related Arrests Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22 year-old male on the 3rd of October at 4 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of breach of a release document.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22 year-old male on the 3rd of October at 4 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for breaching his recognizance order conditions on the 27th of September in relation to communicating with his ex-girlfriend. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Update to Bear Spray Incident – Second Wanted Female Located and Arrested

Earlier Release: Female Arrested for Assault with a Weapon:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Jennifer Nolan-Gibbs of #301-524A Goulais Avenue on the 1st of October at the police station and charged her with two counts of assault with a weapon. On the 30th of September at approximately 6:35 pm officers received a call to a business parking lot in the 600 block of Wellington Street West regarding two females being sprayed with bear spray.

When officers arrived they discovered that the accused, and a second female suspect responsible for the assault, had fled from the area. It is alleged that the two female victims were sprayed by one of the suspects, as the other, the accused, encouraged her and directed her to do so. One of the victims was struck in the face and eyes and required medical attention at the hospital.

The accused females and the victims were known to each other. The accused is to appear in court on the 31st of October. Police know the identity of the second female suspect and are attempting to locate her.

Update - Second Suspect Arrested

Officers arrested the second female wanted for this incident. Janine Nolan, age 19, of 597 Wellington Street West (front apt.) was located and arrested on Cambridge Place last night and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The accused is to appear in court on the 31st of October.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29 year-old male on the 3rd of October at 11:47 am at his residence in relation to failing to appear for prints on the 16th of September in relation to a domestic related assault charge. He was charged with one count of fail to appear for identification and is to appear in court on the 7th of November.

Female Arrested for Cause a Disturbance and Resist Peace Officers

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33 year-old Berni Lynne Nadon on the 3rd of October at 1:49 pm on Devon Road and charged her with one count of cause a disturbance and one count of resist peace officer. It is alleged that on the 3rd of October members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Street Team involved in a drug investigation, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the accused was a passenger in.

When officers were dealing with the accused, she continuously yelled and screamed various profanities towards them. When being arrested, she refused to comply with the officers directions and continued to resist and curse at them. She was subsequently charged with causing a disturbance and resisting officers. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of November.

Male Arrested In Relation to Fraud Investigation

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Fraud Unit arrested 40 year-old Richard Bradley of 169 Spadina Avenue on the 3rd of October at the police station and charged him with two counts of uttering a forged document. It is alleged that on two occasions, on the 22nd of July and the 5th of August 2011, the accused attended at a local loaning business with forged documents in order to secure cash advances totaling an amount of $1109.90. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of November.

Theft Reports

• Two vehicles were entered on Macmurray Avenue and Hardwood Street. Change and vehicle ownerships and permits were stolen.

• Licence plates were reported stolen from a vehicle on Albert Street East.
