Male Charged with Assault

A 47-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested just before 2 am this morning. It is alleged that on the 3rd of October the male attended at a west end drinking establishment and spit at his girlfriend. On the 4th of October around 1 am it is alleged that the accused attended at the same victim’s residence and assaulted her by pouring coffee over her head and pushing her against a wall. The victim did not receive any injuries. The accused was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of breach of peace bond.

Threatening to Cause Death

Another 47-year old male will appear in bail court also charged in relation to a domestic dispute. Just after 1 am this morning the accused attended at the centrally located address of his ex-girlfriends. It is alleged that the male threatened to harm the victim. The accused was on probation at the time of the incident with a number of conditions including not to communicate with the female. The accused has been charged with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and 4 counts of breach of probation.

Male Charged with Sexual Exploitation

A 48-year old male was arrested last evening by officers from Investigation Services and charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation. It is alleged that between October 1, 2004 and October 1st, 2005 the accused touched the teenage female victim in an inappropriate sexual manner. The accused will appear in court on November 7th. The name of the accused will not be released, as it would identify the victim.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Around 8:40 am yesterday morning City Police attended at the intersection of Goulais Avenue and Second Line West in regards to a motor vehicle collision. A silver car operated by 40-year old Sharon Wood-Anderson of 153 Nokomis Beach Road was traveling eastbound on Second Line West. A car operated by 45-year old Sally Lillie of 159 Goulais Avenue was traveling northbound on Goulais Avenue. The Wood-Anderson vehicle struck the Lillie vehicle, which was in the intersection, allegedly on a red light. Sally Lillie and a 6-year old passenger from the Lillie vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. Sally Lillie has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of red light-fail to stop.


Yesterday morning around 11:25 am City police attended at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Church Street for a motor vehicle collision. A pickup operated by 55-year old Giovanni Bruni of 486 Placid Avenue was northbound on Church Street in the center lane. A car operated by 57-year old Diana Prpich of 91 Island Road, Goulais River was traveling eastbound on Wellington Street East and struck the Bruni vehicle. Both drivers received non-life threatening injuries but did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Diana Prpich has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of amber light-fail to stop.

Break and Enter

Last evening City Police attended at a residence in the 700 block of Young Street. The homeowner advised that sometime between Friday and yesterday the home was entered and thieves made off with a X-box.

Suspicious Fire

Last evening Fire Services and City Police attended at a building at 244 Bruce Street for a fire. When emergency personnel arrived they found the building on fire and several youths were seen running from the area. The fire was on the east side the vacant building, which is owned by Soo Mill, and was quickly extinguished. Officers from Investigation Services of the City Police are working jointly with the local Fire Inspectors. It appears at this point that the fire is suspicious.
