City Police are currently investigating a robbery that occurred on the 26th of October at the A&P at the Market Mall on Second Line West. On the 26th of October at approximately 2:23 pm city police were called to the A&P for assistance with a shoplifter that was causing problems. When officers arrived, they learned that a lone male had pulled a knife on the Loss Prevention Officer and then fled from the parking lot area in a blue Ford Minivan southbound on Korah Road. Officers searched the area with negative results. It is alleged that the lone male entered the store around 2 pm and attempted to walk out of the store with a cart full of unpaid groceries. The Loss Prevention Officer attempted to apprehend the male and a struggle ensued. The suspect then took out an Exacto style knife and made threatening gestures towards the security officer with it. The officer let go of the suspect and he ran through the parking lot, got into a blue minivan and fled. The officer received minor injures to a wrist during the struggle.

The male suspect is described as white, in his 30’s, 150 to 160 pounds, 5’8, black short hair, with a goatee, wearing a dark jacket with a red hoodie underneath, blue jeans and runners.
