City Police Investigating an Armed Robbery at Pisa Pizza on Second Line West:

City police received a call regarding an armed robbery in progress at 8:36 pm last night to the Pisa Pizza on Second Line West. Information received was that a male armed with a handgun entered the business, pointed the gun at the employee and demanded cash. The employee gave the male an undisclosed amount of cash and when the suspect was leaving, he got into a grey coloured car, possibly a Ford Tempo, with a male passenger waiting inside. The suspect vehicle sped off in a westbound direction. Officers checking the area, located the suspect vehicle a short time later, abandoned in the St. Joseph the Worker Church parking lot on Arden Street. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located.
The armed suspect was described as being a male in his early 20’s, 6’2”, short hair, unshaven, slim build, wearing a dark hoodie, a white hat, jeans and white running shoes.
No description was provided for the second suspect waiting in the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation is continuing and there are no further details at this time.

Impaired Driver Arrested:

31 year-old Jeffrey Killens of 831 Clement Avenue in Kelowna B.C. was arrested on the 21st of October at 2:45 am on Pim Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 21st of October at approximately 2:40 am city police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver in the downtown area and a description of was given. Officers observed the vehicle driving northbound on Kohler Street and stopped it on Summit Avenue and Pim Street. When the driver, the accused, was checked he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Males Arrested after City Police Respond to a Fight Call:

Last night around 8:52 pm City police received a call regarding two males causing a disturbance and fighting in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 600 block of Macdonald Avenue. When officers arrived they found both men fighting, yelling and in an intoxicated condition. They were both arrested. It is alleged that the two were at a gathering at one of the apartments and got into a verbal argument and the fight ensued.
As a result 23 year-old Matthew McMinn of 143 Sutton Place was charged with one count of cause disturbance, one count of intoxicated in a public place, two counts of breach of probation, and one count of breach of a release document. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
24 year-old Jeff Howard was charged with one count of cause a disturbance and one count of intoxicated in a public place. He is to appear in court on the 24th of November.

Female Charged with Six Counts of Theft for Shoplifting Spree:

18 year-old Nicole Belanger of 38 Park Street was arrested on the 20th of October at 5:55 pm at the Station Mall and charged with six counts of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 20th of October around 5 pm the accused, along with a 17 year-old female youth, attended at the Station Mall and stole several items, mainly clothing, from six different outlets in the mall. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. The accused is to appear in court on the 24th of October. The 17 year-old youth was dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act diversion program.

Youth Charged for Assault at Youth Centre:

A 14 year-old female youth was arrested on the 20th of October at 2:30 am at a local Youth Detention Centre and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that around 1:30 am the accused pushed and punched a staff member at the local Youth Detention Centre. She is to appear in court on the 25th of November.

Property Crimes:

There was a break and enter reported at the Seamless Cylinder Business on Trunk Road sometime over the past weekend. It is undetermined at this time if anything was stolen.

Theft Reports:

• A 28 speed Mountain bike was stolen from a residence on Wallace Terrace.
• A rear licence plate, BDLK 834, was stolen off a vehicle in the Apt. parking lot complex on Sackville Road

Mischief Reports:

• On Frontenac Street, barn window was damaged by a pellet gun.
• A windshield of a vehicle in the lot of a business on Drive Inn Road damaged.
• A front window of a vehicle parked at a business in the 600 block of Great Northern Road was damaged.
