Two Persons to Appear in Bail Court This Morning:

1) 22 year-old Nathan Vandette of 513 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 19th of October at 11:20 am on Great Northern Road and charged with three counts of breach of a release document and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 18th and 19th of October the accused did not abide by conditions of a recognizance and probation order by breaching curfew hours, not being with his surety when out of his residence, failing to keep the peace and being good and attending at a place that he is not to attend. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 16 year-old female youth was arrested on the 19th of October at 4 pm at a local Youth Home and charges with two counts of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 19th of October while in custody at the Youth Home the accused assaulted two staff members and caused damage to a bathroom wall by punching it. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for entering Residence Unlawfully:

54 year-old Vincent Agawa of 217 Alexandra Street (upstairs) was arrested on the 19th of October at 10:50 pm and charged with one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house. It is alleged that on the 19th of October at around 10:50 pm the accused attended at a residence of a person known to him, entered uninvited and refused to leave. He is to appear in court on the 24th of November.

Impaired Driving Arrest:

55 year-old Harold Vincent of #1-36 Clearview Drive was arrested on the 18th of October at 2:19 am on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of failing to provide breath a breath sample. It is alleged that on the 18th of October at 2:19 am city police observed a Ford Pickup that was travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Second Line East in front of the police station. The vehicle then struck several pylons set out for construction at the Great Northern Road intersection. Police were able to stop the truck on Great Northern Road and at the time, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and brought to station where he refused to provide a breath sample. He is to appear in court on the 23rd of November.

Property Crimes:

Police Investigating Several Acts of Spray Painting Incidents:


City Police are currently investigating several acts of mischief involving homes and vehicles being spray painted in the Bayview Area. On the 19th of October from 7 am to 6 pm, officers took 16 complaints of graffiti damage to homes and vehicles that were spray painted with black spray paint. Six homes and one vehicle on Goetz Street, three homes and one vehicle on Central Street, three vehciles and one home on Letcher Street and one vehicle on Dyment Street. In seven of the reported incidents swastikas and other offensive slurs were left on the homes and vehicles. Police believe that the incidents took place sometime overnight on the 19th of October from midnight to 6 am. Investigation Services will be continuing the investigation this morning.
