People to Appear in Bail Court Today 51-year old George Michano of 3-151 Gore Street was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court in October of this year. He will appear in bail court this morning.

51-year old George Michano of 3-151 Gore Street was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court in October of this year. He will appear in bail court this morning.

A 45-year old male was arrested just after 9 pm last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common law wife by pushing her. He will appear in bail court this morning.

27-year old Robert Brownlee of no fixed address was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court in October of this year. He will appear in bail court this morning.

More Charged with Pageant Dr. Break In

News Release from November 21st: Yesterday afternoon a homeowner on Pageant Drive pulled into their driveway just before 3:30 am and observed a number of teenage kids running from the home. When she entered the residence she found that food had been eaten, the stove had been used and that jewellery was missing from the residence. Other items were also taken and the homeowner is working on a detailed property list for the police. Four of the kids were on foot and several were on bikes. Some had dark clothing on, one had a dark jacket and one had a tan jacket. The investigation is continuing.

Update: Last evening officers arrested two youths in connection to the break and enter listed above. A 16-year old female has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. A 15-year old male has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of theft under $5,000, two counts of breach of a release order and one count of breach of probation. Both youths will appear in bail court this morning.

Drug Charges Laid

Last evening officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists of members form the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the O.P.P. Drug Enforcement Section, the O.P.P. North East Region and the R.C.M.P., along with members from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team and the Emergency Services Unit, executed a search warrant at 4-2 Queen Street East. Officers located a substantial amount of narcotics including cocaine, psilocybin (magic mushroom), marihuana, cannabis resin, oxycontin tablets, morphine tablets, codeine tablets and oxycodone/percocet tablets. The estimated street value of the narcotic is $9,942. Officers also located an undisclosed amount of money. During the search officers located a Hilti gun, a Bostick air nailer and a socket set which had all been reported stolen. 38-year old Claude Corriveau and 40-year old Darlene Owl, both of 4-2 Queen Street East, have each been charged with nine counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and three counts each of possession of property obtained by crime. Both will appear in bail court this morning.

Another Arrest Made in Arson Inncident

News release from November 21st, 2006 25-year old Shasta McCauley of 40-724 Great Northern Road was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of arson by negligence and one count of breach of a court order. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of May 29th Fire Services responded to a residence on Chambers Avenue for a house fire. The fire was extinguished but a large amount of butane containers were present in the residence. Officers from Investigation Services and the Fire Inspectors Section of the Fire Services worked jointly on the investigation. It is alleged that the accused had in her possession a cannabis resin extracting device which utilized butane. It is alleged that this device leaked the butane, which contributed to the spread of a fire that caused damage to a home. No one was hurt in the fire and there was significant damage. It is further alleged that the accused failed to notify her change of address which was a term of release on a court order. The accused will appear in court on January 8th.

Update: 37-year old Joseph Folgora of 152 Trelawne Avenue has also been charged with one count of arson by negligence in connection to above house fire. On May 30th officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service executed a search warrant at the residence on Chambers Avenue and located a quantity of cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, oxycodone, perocet and codeine. The estimated street value of the narcotics is $1,040. An undisclosed amount of money was also located. In addition to arson by negligence the accused has also been charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance and 5 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance. The accused will also appear in court on January 8th.

Two Charged with Threatening Death & Obstruct Justice

Yesterday afternoon officers from Investigation Services arrested two females and charged them each with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count each of attempt to obstruct Justice-Judicial Proceeding. It is alleged that the two accused threatened a witness in a criminal matter which is ongoing. Both 27-year old Margaret McBain of 6-710 Second Line West and 29-year old Rose Crack of 232 Cheshire Road will appear in court on January 8th.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a number of reports of break and enters in the last 24-hour period:

1) Just after 10 pm last evening Unipro North on East Street was broken into. It is unknown if anything was taken at this time.

2) Sometime between 6:30 pm on the 25th of November and 9 am on the 27th of November around 9 am the Inner Beauty Day Spa on Spring Street was broken into. An audio box and radio were taken along with some face cleaning products.

3) Sometime overnight between the 26th and 27th of November a home in the 200 block of Wallace Terrace was broken into and a small undisclosed amount of money and an X-box controller were taken.

4) Just before 11 pm last night a glass window at The Fashion Shop was broken, but entry was not gained.

5) Just after 11 pm last night Clean North and Cutters Alley on Queen Street East were both broken into. An undisclosed small amount of change was taken.

6)Shortly before midnight Blue Flame on Wellington Street East was broken into. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.

7) Just after 2 am this morning Marcello Salon and the Cutting Corner in the Churchill Plaza were broken into. It is unknown if anything was taken. A passerby scared off the suspect who is described as being Caucasian, about 5’10” to 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket and hat.

8) Between 3 am and 5 am this morning Sweet Greetings on Trunk Road was broken into. A small undisclosed amount of money was taken in the break in.
