A 26-year-old male was arrested on the 21st of November 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the downtown area in connection with a domestic incident that had occurred the day previous. It is alleged that on the 21st of November 2011 the accused was at his ex-wife’s residence where he assaulted his ex-wife by pushing her and then threatened her boyfriend. It is further alleged that he damaged the boyfriend’s car by kicking one of the doors. The accused was charged with “assault”, “threatening”, and “mischief”.

20-year-old Andrew Petts of no fixed address and 52-year-old Susan Marie McMillan of 125 Gore Street were arrested on the 21st of November 2011 at 5:25 p.m. at the corner of Korah Road and Wallace Terrace. It is alleged that patrol officers had noticed the two accused parties in a Ford F150 pickup truck that had been reported stolen earlier and initiated a vehicle stop at that intersection.

Further to the investigation and subsequent to search the two were found to be in possession of a small amount of a controlled substance (oxycontin and crack cocaine) as well as a quantity of cash and a digital scale. As a result, both accused were charged with “possession of stolen property”, and “possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking”.

The accused Petts was on probation at the time with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He was additionally charged with “breach of probation”.

McMillan was released with a court date of the 9th of January 2012 while Petts was held pending bail court.

Shoplifting Turns to Robbery

Two male youths (one 17 and the other 15 years of age) were both arrested on the 21st of November 2011 at 1:09 p.m. in the downtown area following a report of a theft at Sears. It is alleged that the two were inside the Sears store (293 Bay Street) earlier where the 15-year-old stole a cologne gift package (value $95.00).

When a loss control officer attempted to arrest the accused, the 17-year-old male physically intervened by grabbing the security officer by the arm and telling him to release his friend.

They were arrested by police after fleeing from the store. They were both charged with “robbery” and released with a court date of the 27 December 2011.

Warrant

28-year-old Julie Patricia Kelly of 36 Princeton Drive was arrested at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service (580 Second Line East) on the 21st of November 2011 for an outstanding warrant for allegedly failing to appear for court. She was released with a court date of the 9th of January 2012.

Break And Enters

An apartment storage unit in the 1000 block of Peoples Road was broken into. Two flat screen televisions, and an Xbox and dvd’s were taken.

A residence in the 800 block of Peoples Road was entered sometime yesterday through a basement window. A television, X-Box and Playstation were stolen.

Thefts From Vehicles

External hard drives were stolen for a vehicle on Oxford Street.

Credit cards and change were stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Third Avenue.

Cash and a Louis Vauton Bag were stolen from a vehicle on Borron Avenue. A window was broken to access the items.

Mischief

A vehicle on Copernicus Drive had the driver side mirror broken off sometime during the evening.
