The victim in the motor vehicle collision which occurred yesterday has been identified as 80 year old Antonia Boissoneau of Garden River, Ontario.

City Police responded to a motor vehicle collision yesterday afternoon on Great Northern Road north of Fifth Line. A 2001 GMC Jimmy was traveling north bound on Great Northern Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic. The GMC Jimmy struck a north bound dump truck head on. An 80 year passenger of the Jimmy was taken by ambulance from the scene of the accident to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the Jimmy suffered non life threatening injuries. The dump truck sustained minor damage and the Jimmy sustained severe damage. No charges have been laid in this accident.

Assault & Breach

A 26 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of breach of probation order. It is alleged that on the 19th of November just after 10pm the accused assaulted his girlfriend while at her east end home. The accused grabbed the victim by the throat and pushed her to the ground. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and did not require medical attention. The accused turned himself in to the City Police just after 11pm where he was subsequently arrested and charged. He is scheduled to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving

1) 32 year old Henry George St. Jules of 502 Boundary Road has been charged with 1 count of impaired driving and 1 count of consume alcohol over the legal limit. Yesterday, just after 9pm, City Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Wellington West and Huron Street. There they found the driver of a 1995 Chevy Pick Up truck to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and blood shot eyes. It is alleged that the accused while under the influence of alcohol was driving east bound on Wellington Street West when he struck a vehicle which had stopped directly in front of him at Huron Street. There were no injuries reported at the scene of the accident. The accused is schedule to appear in court on the 7th of January. Both vehicle sustained moderate damage.

2) 38 year old Gregory Scott Shelbourne of 54 Ellis Road Unit #4 has been charged with 1 count of impaired driving and 1 count of consume alcohol over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 19th of November just before 6pm the accused Gregory Shelbourne was driving his vehicle, a 1998 Chevy Pick Up, when he struck a parked vehicle on Ransome Drive. The accused did leave the scene but was located a while later by police at his residence and arrested. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on the 7th of January. There were no injuries reported at the scene of the accident and the accused vehicle had severe damage and the parked car had moderate damage.

Possession of Stolen Property

25 year old Devon Erin Walsh of 9 Euclid Avenue and 28 year old Brett Bruce Warnock of 57 Jemmette Street have both been charged with possession of stolen property valued over $5000. City Police located the two accused in the lane way behind 8 Queen Street East. The accused Warnock was driving a 2002 Pontiac Sunbird, while Walsh was in the passenger seat. The vehicle had been reported stolen on the 18th of November. Both were arrested and are scheduled to appear in court on the 7th of January.
City Police took one complaint of a break and enter which had occurred sometime overnight on the 18th of November. A residence on Northland Road appeared to have the door knob broken off. No entry was gained and nothing was taken.

Mischief

A mischief was reported at 258 Great Northern Road. Overnight on the 18th of November an unknown individual punched a hole in a display sign at this location. It is unknown at this time the value of the damage.
