The following four persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1) A 35 year-old male was arrested 10th of November just before 1 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.
The following four persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 35 year-old male was arrested 10th of November just before 1 am at a west end residence and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.00 and four counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the evening of the 9th November the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s west end residence and got into a verbal argument with her. And left. The accused returned back to her residence just after midnight and attempted to force his way in. The accused broke two windows in the process but no entry was gained. At the time of the incident the accused was on a court recognizance with conditions that he not communicate, harass, annoy or physically interfere with the ex-girlfriend and to stay away from her residence. It is further alleged that at the time he was under the influence of alcohol and he is on conditions not to consume any alcohol.


2) A 23 year-old male and 18 year-old female were both arrested at the city police station on the 11th of November. It is alleged that on the 9th of November at approximately 8:30 am the two were in a vehicle when they picked up a male known to them on Northern Avenue. It is alleged that they drove the 22 year-old male to a remote area in the west-end of the city. The accused male held a butcher knife to the victim’s throat and threatened to kill him and his family if he went to the police. It is further alleged that the two accused persons struck the victim in the head with the knife on two occasions. The victim required treatment for non life-threatening injuries. It is alleged that the incident may be domestic related and that the victim and the accused female did have a past relationship.

The male accused has been charged with three counts of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breach of probation as he was on conditions at the time to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The female accused has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and three counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

3) A 14 year-old female youth was arrested on the 10th of November around 2:20 pm at her centrally located residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on 10th of November at 1:45 pm at her residence, the accused assaulted her 19 year-old sister by punching her in the face approximately four times. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the incident the accused was on an undertaking with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Two Charged with Assault

1) 28 year-old Miranda Corbiere of #2-151 Goulais Avenue was arrested on the 11th of November just after midnight at a downtown residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 9th of November just after 4 pm the accused assaulted a 34-year old female known to her by kicking her in the back and leg area and punching her in the face. The assault took place while the victim was walking in the alley way off Gore Street. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of December.

2) A 43 year-old male was arrested on the 12th of November at 8:35 pm at his centrally located residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 12th of November at 8:15 pm the accused assaulted his girlfriend by slapping her in the face. The incident took place at his residence. There were no injuries reported. He is to appear in court on the 19th of December.

City police conducted the R.I.D.E. Program this past weekend:

350 vehicles were checked –four roadside tests were administered, one 12 hour suspension and one 90 day suspension were issued.

The following break and enters were reported the past weekend:

1) A residence on Chambers Avenue was entered on the 9th of November at 11:47 pm. It is alleged that around that time the homeowners arrived home and chased three youths from the home. A leather jacket was reported stolen. Only description provided was three youths, ages 16 – 18 years all wearing dark clothing.

2) The Fraternal Order of Eagles Building on Wellington Street West was entered on the 10th of November at around 5:02 am. A witness reported seeing three persons attempting to break in. The alarm was activated and the three fled from the scene in a blue van. Nothing was reported stolen. No further description was provided.

3) A residence on Central Park was entered sometime between 12:00 – 6:00 am on the 10th of November. A computer, a DVD Player and a router were reported stolen.

4) Petro Canada on Trunk Road was entered on the 11th of November at 6:06 am. Six to Nine cartons of cigarettes and a number of chocolate bars were stolen. The alarm was activated. The suspect/s were gone on police arrival.

5) There was an attempt break and enter reported to a residence on Grace Street on the 12th of November around 7:54 am.

6) A residence on Peoples Road was entered on the 12th of November between 1:30 and 5:30 pm. Jewellery and a purse were reported stolen.

7) A garage on Fauquier Avenue was entered sometime overnight on the 13th of November. It is not known if anything was taken.

The following mischief reports were taken over the past weekend:

1) On the 9th of November a homeowner on Third Line West reported damage to the lawn that was caused by four wheelers driving over it.

2) Two windows of a residence on Albert Street East were smashed when rocks were thrown at them on the 10th of November at approximately 1:57 am.

3) Soo Video T.V. on Gore Street had damaged done to a front door window on the 10th of November at 11:02 pm. The alarm was activated. A small hole was left in the window.

4) A vehicle parked on Blake Avenue was damaged on the 11th of November at approximately 2:06 am.

5) Trees in front of a residence on Salisbury Avenue were ripped out sometime overnight on the 11th of November.

6) A house on McGreggor Avenue was damaged overnight on the 11th of November.

7) A wooden mailbox was broken off in front of a residence on Alagash Drive.

8) A padlock to a storage shed on Boston Avenue was cut off sometime from the 9th – 11th of November.

9) A garage on Brown Street was spray painted on the 11th of November.

10) A basement window of a residence on Wiber Street was smashed sometime overnight on the 12th of November.

11) A vehicle that was parked on Boston Avenue had the tires slashed sometime overnight on the 12th of November.

12) There were windows smashed at Parkland School sometime over the past weekend.

13) The fence in Joe’s Sports Property on Queen Street East was damaged sometime overnight on the 12th of November.

14) A front window at Propane Depot on Great Northern Road was damaged on the 12th of November.
