Youth Assaults Adult Male A 13-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. Yesterday morning City Police were called to a downtown residence in regards to the youth assaulting an adult male known to the youth.

A 13-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. Yesterday morning City Police were called to a downtown residence in regards to the youth assaulting an adult male known to the youth. It is alleged that the youth hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat. The victim did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident. The youth has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.

Male Fails to Appear for Court


51-year old Denis Theriault of 403-137 East Street will appear in court on December 5th. Mr. Theriault was arrested yesterday morning on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear for court.

Break and Enter

Last evening City Police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 100 block of Second Line West. It is unknown at this time of anything was taken.

Paint Ball Incident

Last evening City Police received three reports of incidents involving paint balls. Around 9:45 pm a vehicle traveling northbound on Peoples Road was hit with a blue paint pellet. A second vehicle was also hit a short time later in the same area. Officers were unable to locate anyone. Just after 10 pm a homeowner in the 600 block of Pine Street reported that a car had shot a paint gun pellet at their front in window. The only description available was that it was a dark coloured medium sized car.


Kids Stealing Candy

Last evening City Police received two calls involving the same persons and vehicles stealing kids candy. Both incidents were reported at 8:25 pm to the City Police. It is alleged that 4 male teens in either a white or grey SUV jumped out of the vehicle in the 400 block of Boundary Road and stole candy from a youth. The teens were not in costume. The vehicle was last seen headed southbound on Boundary Road. The same vehicle and youths also stole candy from a child in the Old Garden River Road area and also threw firecrackers at the youth.

A third call was received last night regarding a youth reporting that they had their candy taken at knifepoint in front of Northern Heights School. This incident occurred around 7 pm.

Robbery

Just after 2 am a male entered the Mac’s Mart at 1230 Wellington Street East, threatened to kill the clerk and also stole some merchandise before leaving the store. The male is described as being between 18-20 years of age, intoxicated, and wearing a black leather jacket, black pants and black shoes. Pedestrian Hit by Car

Yesterday just after 12:20pm City Police attended at Wellington Street East near Angelina Avenue for a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a pedestrian. A car operated by 44-year old Donna McCoy of 48 Kerr Drive was traveling westbound on Wellington Street East when a 17-year old youth stepped out onto the street to head southbound across Wellington Street East and was struck by the car. The youth was taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The youth was charged under the City By-Law 77-200-pedestrain fail to yield the right of way. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind all pedestrians to cross at the designated cross-areas.
