Male Arrested for RJ’s Market Robbery
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Jordon Paim of #2-331 Wellington Street West at 6:15 am this morning at his residence on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of robbery with a weapon and four counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a robbery incident that occurred on the 24th of April when the accused attended at the grocery store and stole a number of meat items and left the store.

The accused was approached by an employee of the store a short distance away and at that time the accused produced a can of bear spray and threatened to spray the employee. The employee backed off at that point and police were called. Officers searched the area for the accused but could not locate him at the time.

Officers furthered their investigation and were able to identify the accused. He was located this morning at his residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions that he not possess any weapons, that he not attend at the store and further, he was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Male Youth Arrested for Mischief and Breaching Release Orders
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 16 year-old male youth at 11:44 am on the 2nd of May at a local youth facility and charged him with one count of mischief, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 29th of April the accused damaged a window at the facility and at the time he breached release orders by not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour.

Impaired Driving Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Brittany Wiebe of 164 East Balfour Street at 2:08 am this morning on Second Line West and charged her with one count of consume over the legal limit and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 3rd of May at approximately 2 am officers received a call to the Mac’s Convenience Store on Second Line West regarding a vehicle striking the front wall of the store. Officers attended and found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol.

The accused registered a fail on the roadside screening device and was subsequently arrested. There was some minor damage reported to the vehicle and to the wall of the store. No injuries were reported. The accused is to appear in court on the 6th of June.

Update to Wellington East Office Fire Investigation
Earlier Release
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is assisting Fire Services at an office fore in the 500 block of Wellington Street East. The office was unattended at the time. There are no reports of any injuries. We ask that the public avoid this area.

Update:
Requesting Public’s Assistance with Arson Investigation

This fire is now being treated as an arson investigation. The fire is being investigated by the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigations Unit.
Police advise that they have information at this point in the investigation that a male suspect was observed fleeing form the scene at the time of the fire which was at approximately 7:15 am.

The male ran across Wellington Street East northbound up Lynn Road and was last seen running northbound through the Huron Central Railway property. He was wearing a dark hood and baggy clothing. The suspect was approximately 5’10 - 6 foot tall. Investigators believe there was a moderate amount of vehicular and pedestrian traffic at this time and are requesting the public’s assistance with their investigation.

Break and Enter Report
A residence on Gladstone Avenue was broken into on the 2nd of May at approximately 3 pm. The resident was inside sleeping at the time and woke up to some noise in the home. Three male suspects fled the home with some jewellery and some credit cards. The suspects were believed to be around 20 years of age and wearing hoodies. One male suspect was described as being white and having a shaved head. They were last scene running in a southbound direction.
