Domestic Related Arrest Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old female youth on the 16th of May at 3:15 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of assault.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old female youth on the 16th of May at 3:15 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 16th of May around 1 pm the accused assaulted her ex-boyfriend while at a downtown residence. No injuries were reported. The accused is to appear in court on the 30th of June.

Male Youth Arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm
On the 16th of May, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15 year-old male youth at 3:20 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 9th of May at approximately 8:15 am the accused assaulted a male youth while outside a local high school. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that required medical attention as a result of the assault. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of June.

R.I.D.E. ((Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program Weekend Results
In a further proactive effort to reduce impaired drivers on our roadways, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted a RIDE Program over this past weekend. There were 323 vehicles checked, four roadside tests and one breath test was administered. One 90 day suspension and one arrest was made for consume over the legal limit. IF YOU PLAN TO DRINK – DON’T DRIVE. ARRANGE FOR A DESIGNATED DRIVER, TAKE PUBLIC TRANSIT, CALL A TAXI OR A SOBER FRIEND. STAY THE NIGHT.

Break and Enter Reports
Three businesses in the 500 block of Queen Street East were broken into over the past weekend. A Laptop and some cash were reported stolen.

Theft Reports
• Scrap metal was stolen from a property on Marshall Drive.
• A BMX Diamond Back Viper bike was stolen from Charles Street.
• A purse left inside a vehicle was stolen in a parking lot on Wellington Street West.

Mischief Reports
• A gate in the back parking lot of Sault College was damaged by two youths. One of the male suspects was wearing dark sweater and a red hat, the other a white sweater, dark jeans and a backpack. Officers checked the area for the youths with negative results.
• A side window of a vehicle was smashed while parked at a business on Sackville Road yesterday
