Breach of Release Document Yesterday afternoon just after 1 pm City Police apprehended 2 16-year old youths who were breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of Roberta Bondar Place at 70 Foster Drive.

Yesterday afternoon just after 1 pm City Police apprehended 2 16-year old youths who were breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of Roberta Bondar Place at 70 Foster Drive. The youths fled the area but were apprehended shortly after by officers who attended in the area. One of the youths was charged with one count of theft under $5,000. The second youth was on probation with terms including to keep the peace and be good. This youth was charged with one count of attempt theft under $5,000, one count of breach of probation and 2 counts of breach of a release document. Both youths will appear in court on June14th.

Theft Investigation

City Police are currently investing the theft of approximately 2000 meters of 4/0 gauge copper wire valued at approximately $18,000. On May 5th Brascan reported the theft when it was noted the wire was missing a substation on Third Line East. Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday afternoon just before 3 pm, City Police attended on McNabb Street in the 200 block for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by 57-year-old Hector Guy of 452 North Street was stopped in a line of traffic on McNabb Street facing westbound. It is alleged that an SUV operated by 48-year old Meredith Ramsey of 79 Grove Street was traveling westbound on McNabb Street as well, but did not stop her vehicle in time and ran into the rear of the Guy vehicle. Mr. Guy was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Vehicle damage was described as light to moderate. Mrs. Ramsey has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of careless driving.
