Unlawfully at large City police located and arrested a 40 year-old male at a downtown bar just after 10 pm last night. This male was unlawfully at large and wanted on several charges relating to a domestic incident from the 30th of January 2007.

City police located and arrested a 40 year-old male at a downtown bar just after 10 pm last night. This male was unlawfully at large and wanted on several charges relating to a domestic incident from the 30th of January 2007. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of theft under $5,000.00, three counts of breach of probation order, one count of unlawfully at large and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 30th of January the accused assaulted his ex – common law wife at her residence and stole her purse. It is further alleged that the accused failed to attend at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre on the 3rd of February to serve his intermittent sentence. At the time of these incidents the accused was on a probation orders to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. When police located and arrested the accused he was consuming alcohol when on a court release document with conditions not to consume alcohol. The accused will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Theft Under $5000

19 year-old Kelly Aubrie of 46 Wellington Street East and 18 year-old Ashley Swanson of 680 Portage Lane were arrested just before 9 pm last night and both charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that they attended at the Sears Store in the Station Mall and stole clothing worth approximately $383.00. Both accused were apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. They are to appear in court on the 4th of June.

Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle

20 year-old Erica Ehikwe of 64 Grove Crescent was arrested yesterday just after 7 pm at the City Police Station and charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged that on the 11th of April around 4 pm the accused was driving a motor vehicle southbound on Sackville Road when she stopped her car suddenly in front of a city bus, got out of her car with another female and entered on the bus. The female exchanged words with three female passengers she appeared to be upset with and know.

The female had to be escorted off the bus by the driver. It is alleged that the accused continued to follow the bus in her vehicle running a red light on Sackville Road and cutting off two vehicles on Great Northern Road and Bruce Street. The accused followed the bus to the city bus terminal on Queen Street East, travelling the wrong way up Queen Street and blocked the entrance not allowing the bus entry. The female drove away without further incident and the police were called to investigate the incident. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of May.
