Two Males Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

27 year-old Henry Cadreau of 25 Hughes Street, wanted on outstanding warrants, was located and arrested on the 8th of March at 5:53 pm on Portage Lane and charged with one count of break, enter a place and commit an indictable offence, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of breach of probation. The warrant was in relation to an incident on the 27th of February when it is alleged that the accused broke into a downtown residence of a male known to him around 4 am got into an altercation with him and stabbed him with a broken beer bottle. The male victim had to be treated at hospital for non-life threatening injuries as a result. When officers were arresting the accused, he was found in possession of approximately 1.5 grams of marijuana. The accused is also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

22 year-old Scott Robinson-Maerz of #3-510 Morin Street was arrested on the 8th of March at 10:45 am at the police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. He has been charged with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm

53 year-old Achillo Naccarato of 153 McFadden Avenue was arrested on the 8th of March at 7:30 am at the police station and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 5th of March just after 10:30 pm the accused assaulted a male known to him while at a local bar. The victim received injuries that required surgery to his facial area. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of April.

Two Theft Related Arrests

34 year-old Barry Wright of 441 Wellington Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon at 1 pm at the police station and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. The accused was wanted for a theft related incident that occurred at his place of employment on the 28th of August when he allegedly stole an iPod from a co-worker’s sweater. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of April.

21 year-old Amy Lynn Steinburg of #502-100 James Street was arrested yesterday afternoon at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that she attended at the store just after 2 pm and stole some cosmetics. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 12th of April.

Break and Enters

• The Wight Construction business office on Cedar Street was broken into sometime overnight on the 8th of March. Several tools and computer equipment were reported stolen.
• A garage on Central Street was broken into sometime over the past weekend. Several power tools were reported stolen.
• A fishing hut on Leigh’s Bay Road was entered and two fishing rods and a net were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports

• Five vehicles were vandalized in the areas of Muriel Drive, Pim Street, Church Street and Queen Street East.
• The bus shelter on Second Line West and Goulais Avenue was vandalized sometime overnight on the 8th of March.
