Male Charged with Criminal Harassment

A 29-year old male will appear in bail court this morning in relation to a domestic related matter. It is alleged that between the 7th of March and the 12th of March the accused bothered his ex-girlfriend by calling her residence repeatedly, showed up at her place of employment and bothered her, as well as cutting off her car when she was driving and refusing to let her leave the area. The accused was on probation at the time of the incidents with conditions to keep the peace and be good. The accused has been charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of criminal harassment.

Youth Charged with Treatening to Cause Death

A 14-year old youth will appear in bail court today in relation to a threatening complaint. It is alleged that on March 7th the accused threatened another youth by saying they were going to stab the victim. The threat occurred over the phone. When the accused was arrested a small pocketknife was located on the youth. The youth has been charged with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to the public.

Youth Charged with Breach of Probation

Last evening a 16-year old youth was arrested after a complaint was received from the City Bus Terminal last evening. It is alleged that the youth attempted to assault an employee by lunging at the employee with a beer bottle. The youth was yelling and screaming at the time of the incident. The accused was also on probation with terms to keep the peace, as well as a curfew of 9 pm. The youth has been charged with one count of assault, one count of cause a disturbance by being drunk and two counts of breach of probation. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.

Home Depot Employees Charged with Fraud

Samuel Chiarella has since been acquitted of all charges in relation to this incident. 3 males were arrested last evening by officers from Investigation Services in relation to a fraud complaint from the Home Depot located at 530 Great Northern Road. It is alleged that all three employees worked together to remove merchandise from the store without paying for it. 2 of the accused persons would go through the third persons cash register and appear to pay for the merchandise. The value of the property taken is approximately $500. Charged with one count each of fraud under $5,000 are: 21-year old Samuel Chiarella of 1018 Peoples Road, 21-year old Brandon Nevers of 52 West Perth Bay and 20-year old Cory Jenson of 398 First Avenue. All three will appear in court on April 25th.

Motor Vehicle Collision

City Police attended at Pim Street near Bruce Street yesterday afternoon just before 3 pm for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by Timothy Bailey of 69 Adrian Drive, which had been operating southbound on Pim Street, stopped for the red light at Bruce Street. A pickup truck, being operated by Rosa Duoba of 24 Laurentian Drive allegedly failed to stop in time and ran into the back of the Bailey car. Neither driver required medical treatment at the time of the accident for their injuries. Rosa Duoba has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of follow too close.

Break and Enter

Yesterday City Police received 2 reports of break and enters. A residence in the 600 block of Bay Street was entered but it is unknown at this time what was taken. Yesterday during the daytime hours thieves broke into a home in the 100 block of Brookfield Avenue but it does not appear that anything was taken.
