Female Charged for Making Numerous 911 Calls 67 year-old Moira Williams of #508-303 Macdonald Avenue was arrested this morning at 3:15 am at her residence and charged with one count of mischief.
Female Charged for Making Numerous 911 Calls

67 year-old Moira Williams of #508-303 Macdonald Avenue was arrested this morning at 3:15 am at her residence and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that throughout the evening of the 1st of March and into the early morning hours of the 2nd, the accused, while under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly called 911 requesting the police to go to a store and purchase cigarettes for her. After being warned several times by police not to call back unless it was an emergency, she continued to call and was charged. She is to appear in court on the 12th of April.

Counterfeit Related Charges

24 year-old Brian Cowan of 404 Morin Street was arrested on the 1st of March at 6:02 pm on Tancred Street and charged with one count of possession of counterfeit money and one count of uttering counterfeit money. It is alleged that on the 1st of March around 3:21 pm the accused attended at a local restaurant and attempted to purchase food with counterfeit money. Staff refused the counterfeit money and reported the incident to police. He is to appear in court on the 12th of April.

Female Driver Charged with Numerous offences after failing to remain at Scene of Accident

21 year-old Jacqueline Desa of 174B Highway 17 East was arrested on the 1st of March at 2:10 pm at the station and charged criminally with one count of fail to remain at the scene of an accident and under the Highway Traffic act of Ontario, one count of fail to stop for stop sign, one count of drive motor vehicle, no licence, one count of drive motor vehicle no currently validated plate and one count of drive motor, no plates. It is alleged that on the 27th of February at around 1:20 pm the accused was driving her vehicle southbound on Brunswick Avenue, failed to stop for the stop sign at Second Line West and struck a vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Second Line West. The accused then left the scene. No injuries were reported in the collision and after police completed their investigation she was charged. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of March.

Domestic Related Arrest

A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 1st of March at 11:05 am at the station after turning himself in on an outstanding domestic related warrant. He was charged with one count of assault and one count of criminal harassment. He is to appear in court on the 12th of March.

Break and Enter Reports

• A residence on Park Street was entered on yesterday at around 12:28 pm. At this time nothing appears to be stolen.
• A construction trailer in the Sault College construction area was entered sometime overnight on the 1st of March. Some tools were reported stolen.

Theft Report

An 8X10 utility trailer was reported stolen from Turner Avenue.
