Two persons to appear in bail court

Last night members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old youth for breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that the accused breached his recognizance release order by not residing with his surety.

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 19-year-old male on charges of break and enter and robbery. It is alleged that at approximately 5:00 pm yesterday the accused male broke into the victim’s apartment, put a knife to the victims’ throat and demanded money from the victim. The accused had threatened to kill the victim if he did not receive money. The accused left after receiving a small amount of cash. Upon arresting the accused officers located a pair of skis in the accused person’s apartment. These skis had been reported stolen in a break and enter in January 2010. It is further alleged that at the time of these offences the accused was on an undertaking release order prohibiting him from possessing any weapon.
Michael Leclair, age 19, of 118 West St is charged with one count of robbery, one count of break and enter, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of an undertaking. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of this assault.

Break and enter
A residence in the 200 block of Fifth Line E. was entered- power tools were stolen. A residence in the 100 block of Malabar Dr. was entered- unknown what was taken. Residences in the 200 and 300 blocks of Millcreek Dr. were entered- a bicycle was reported stolen. A residence in the 100 block of Pardee Ave was entered- electronics and jewelllery were stolen. An attempted break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Chestnut St.

Mischief
Vehicles parked in the 100 block of Chestnut St and the 200 block of Queen St.E. were damaged.

Theft
Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
the 200 block of Old Garden River Rd. – cash and electronics were stolen.
the 100 block of Grand Blvd – a wallet was stolen.
two vehicles in the 100 block of Pardee Ave were entered – a purse and personal papers were taken.
