7 People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning 1) A 33-year old male was arrested on the 1st of July and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 1st of July the accused slapped his ex-girlfriend in the arm.
7 People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning

1) A 33-year old male was arrested on the 1st of July and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 1st of July the accused slapped his ex-girlfriend in the arm. The incident occurred in the City’s west end.

2) A 71-year old male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on the 3rd of July. It is alleged that on the 2nd of July the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by pushing her against a coffee table. It is further alleged that the accused slapped the victim a number of times. The incident occurred in a downtown residence.

3) A 48-year old male was arrested and charged on the 3rd of July with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his girlfriend by throwing her up a set of stairs onto a floor. The incident occurred in a residence in the west end of town.

4) A 45-year old male was arrested and charged on the 30th of June with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common law wife by throwing the victim down two stairs and jumped on her back. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

5) 20-year old Ryan Harris of no fixed address was arrested on the 30th of June and charged with two counts of breach of a release order. It is alleged that the accused failed to notify a change of address condition that was part of the release order.

6) 37-year old Natalie Bowerman of 3-823 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 3rd of July on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court in relation to a theft charge from June of this year.

7) 34-year old Eric Gemme of no fixed address was arrested on the 3rd of July and charged with one count of obstruct police, one count of resist arrest and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that officers found the accused in an intoxicated condition in the downtown area. The accused was subsequently arrested and resisted the officers. It is further alleged that the accused threatened to harm one of the officers if the accused saw the officer off duty.

Impaired Drivers

4 persons were arrested over the weekend in relation to drinking and driving related offences:

1) 43-year old Adam Auger of 83 Bond Crescent, Richmond Hill, Ontario was arrested on the 30th of June and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 30th of June just before midnight the accused was operating a motorcycle on Old Goulais Bay Road and lost control of the motorcycle on the train tracks. The motorcycle then crossed the road and ended up in the ditch. City Police were called and found the accused to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused will appear in court on August 14th.

2) 19-year old Jeffry (correct spelling) Doan of 146 Grand Road, Goulais River was arrested on the 1st of July and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 1st of July around 3am the accused was traveling at high rates of speed eastbound on McNabb Street and then northbound on Pine Street and was observed by officers. The accused was a stopped by officers on Pine Street and subsequently arrested. He will appear in court on August 14th.

3) 27-year old Joshua Smith of 1748 Queen Street East was arrested on the 2nd of July just before 2 am and charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of resist arrest and one count of assault police officer. On the 2nd of July the R.I.D.E. program was out and set up on Pim Street near Queen Street East. It is alleged that as the accused approached the R.I.D.E. stop he turned southbound into Purvis Marine. One of the officers attended down to speak to the male who had allegedly parked his car and was walking away. As the officer approached the male it is alleged the accused became evasive and when informed he was under arrest he began to fight the officer. The officer called for assistance and with the assistance of another officer the accused was taken into custody. He will appear in court on August 14th.

4) 26-year old Ricky Luzzi of 30 Digby Crescent was arrested just after 3 am this morning and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was stopped on Gore Street at the red light at Albert Street East. Officers were behind the accused’s vehicle and when the vehicle failed to proceed on the green light officers approached the vehicle and found that the driver appeared to be asleep. When officers spoke to the accused they detected an odour of alcohol on him and the accused was subsequently arrested. He will appear in court on August 14th.

Possession Of Weapon

48-year old Timothy Burt of 1014 Wallace Terrace was arrested just before 11 pm on the 1st of July and charged with one count of possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public. Officers attended in the downtown area near Gore Street and Albert Street East after City Police received call of a male with a knife running around in the area. When officers attended in the area they advised the accused to drop the knife several times. The accused refused to do so. A number of bystanders were in the area and vehicular traffic was stopped as the accused was in the middle of the street. As a result of the accused failing to comply with the demands to drop the knife, officers utilized their taser and the accused was taken into custody without incident and no one being harmed. Mr. Burt will appear in court on the 14th of August.
