Yesterday afternoon City Police attended at a west end residence and arrested a 19-year-old male. It is alleged that on July 1st the accused did assault his common-law girlfriend by pushing, grabbing slapping and kicking her, he also threw a pop bottle at the victim and struck her on the face. It is further alleged that the accused damaged a cell phone belonging to the victim and when the victim attempted to leave her detained her against her will. The accused is charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief and Forcible Confinement. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Impaired Driver

Yesterday morning City Police stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act infraction. It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle stumbled when he went to get out of his vehicle and he had a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. As a result the accused was arrest for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80mgs. The accused, Arnold James St. Pierre, age 61, of Union Rd. Ingersoll, Ont. was on his way home when the police stopped him. Mr. St. Pierre will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 28th at 9:00 AM on these charges.

Mischief At Pinewood Schoo

Early this morning City Police attended at Pinewood School regarding a mischief complaint. Upon arrival they noticed a large amount of blood near a broken front door window. A search of the area led to the arrest of an 18-year-old male. Charged with Mischief is Johnathon Joseph Stephney, age 18, of 334 Dacey Rd. Apt 205. Mr. Stephney will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 21 at 9:00 AM.

Break & Enters

City Police are investigating three break and enters from over the weekend.

Break-ins were reported to the Auto Glass Plus Shop at 543 Trunk Rd. Thieves forced the front door open and then stole a quantity of tools.

A garage in the 100 block of Ransome Dr. was entered. Entry was gained by forcing a rear door. A camera and a phone were stolen from the vehicles inside.

A garage in the 1100 block of Wallace terrace was entered. Entry gained by forcing the door. It is unknown what was stolen at this time.

City Police Get Second For Float

This past weekend the City Police entered a float in the Rotary Day Parade. It is alleged that the float placed second in the Non-Commercial division. The staff and student s from the Community Services Office wish to thank everyone that assisted in the construction.
