Bail Court

A 37-year-old male was arrested on the 13th of July 2010 at 4:12 a.m. in the west end of the city in relation to a domestic related incident. It is alleged that the accused was at his girlfriend’s residence where he grabbed and pushed her. In so doing the accused also damaged a door to that residence. He was subsequently charged with assault and mischief. The victim did not require medical attention.

A 26-year-old male was arrested on the 12th of July 2010 for a domestic related incident that occurred that morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. It is alleged that the accused attended at his ex-girlfriends centrally located residence where he damaged a car belonging to the victim’s boyfriend. The accused was charged with mischief.

27-year-old Devon Walsh of 375 Bruce Street was arrested on the 12th of July 2010 at 10:35 p.m. on Wellington Street West and charged with two breaches of an undertaking. She was allegedly observed by police officers operating a motor vehicle while being a suspended driver. At the time the accused was on an undertaking with conditions to not be in a motor vehicle without the owner present and to notify change of address (both of which she was in contravention of). Ms. Walsh was also wanted by the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police for fail to appear for court.

Domestic Assault

A 20-year-old male was arrested on the 12th of July 2010 at 7:56 p.m. at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service after turning himself in following a domestic related incident. It is alleged that the accused had been at his common laws east end residence on the 11th of July 2010 at 9:00 p.m. where he assaulted her following a domestic argument. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused is compelled to attend court on the 25th of August 2010.

Thefts

28-year-old Lynn Kwissiwa of 814 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 12 of July 2010 at 12:34 p.m. at Zellers in the Station Mall for shoplifting. It is alleged that the accused stole some cologne and jewelry. The accused was also on probation at the time with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. She was subsequently charged with theft and breach of probation and is now compelled to attend court on the 16th of August.

A 16-year-old and 15-year-old female youth were arrested on the 12th of July 2010 at 4:25 p.m. at Zellers in the Station Mall for shoplifting. It is alleged that both accused parties together stole a pair of sunglasses and some makeup. They were both charged with theft and given a court date of the 17th of August.

Break and Enter

There was a break and enter to a residence on St. James Street that occurred sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. A television and a purse were stolen.

Thefts

A vehicle in the 400 block of Queen Street East was entered by smashing one of the windows and a purse was taken.

A vehicle also in the downtown area on Queen Street East was entered by smashing one of the windows and change was taken.

A vehicle in the 300 block of Dacey Road was entered and a quantity of change was taken.

Motor Vehicle Collision

23-year-old Robin Hanbury of 84 Tanoak Drive in London Ontario was charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for failing to stop for a red light following a motor vehicle collision on the 12th of July 2010 at 12:32 p.m. It is alleged that the accused was driving her car west on Wellington Street East where she failed to stop for a red light at the intersection at Bruce Street. As a result she struck a car that was travelling south on Bruce Street through the intersection that was being driven by a 46-year-old female. Both drivers were taken to the hospital. At the time injuries appeared to be minor.
