Stabbing in Downtown Residence Last evening shortly after 5 pm officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at the Sault Area Hospital regarding a report of a stabbing.

Last evening shortly after 5 pm officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at the Sault Area Hospital regarding a report of a stabbing. A 32-year old male victim reported that he was stabbed while at a downtown residence. The victim and the suspect are known to each other. Officers from Investigation Services are continuing their investigation and no further details are being released at this time.

The following persons will appear in bail court this morning:

1) 34-year old Corey Hynes of 117 Sweet Grass Street, Garden River was arrested early this morning and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that just before 2 am the accused broke into Algoma Auto Sales on Great Northern Road and stole the cash till which contained an undisclosed amount of money. The accused was located a short distance away and the property was recovered. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank those citizens who reported the break and enter and who provided descriptive information regarding the accused.

2) 58-year old Peter Sprague of 370 Pine Street was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm, one count of forcible confinement and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 28th of January the accused assaulted a female known to the accused. It is further alleged that the accused threatened to kill the victim and also prevented her from leaving the residence. At the time of the offences the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

3) 42-year old Karl Crack of 265 St. James Street was arrested yesterday on an outstanding arrest warrant. It is alleged that between July and September of 2003 the accused touched a young female who was known to the accused in an inappropriate sexual manner. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted the victim by punching her. The accused has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual exploitation and one count of assault.

Two Counts of Criminal Harassment

19-year old Daniel Bolduc of 34 Sutton Place was arrested yesterday by officers from Investigation Services and charged with two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged that in September of 2006 the accused made several phone calls to two females that caused both females to fear for their safety. The accused will appear in court on March 5th.

Break & Enters

Between the 19th of January and the 28th of January a garage on Pozzebon Crescent was entered. Nothing appears to have been taken.

This morning just after 4 am this morning a break and enter to Vital Clothing on Queen Street East was reported. A quantity of clothing of taken.
