Domestic Related Arrests A 50-year old male was arrested on December 31st and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife by grabbing her arm and squeezing it during a verbal argument.

A 50-year old male was arrested on December 31st and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife by grabbing her arm and squeezing it during a verbal argument. The female did not require any treatment for any injuries. The incident occurred in the couple’s west-end residence.

A 28-year old male was arrested on December 30th after it is alleged that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend by punching her in the face with his fist while she was talking on the phone. The assault took place at the victim’s centrally located home.

A 29-year old male was arrested on January 2nd after it is alleged that he assaulted his common-law wife by punching her twice in the head area, causing the victim to fall to the floor. The accused was arrested later on the 2nd and charged with two counts of assault. The incident occurred in the city’s east end.

A 45-year old male was arrested on the 31st of December and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that just before 7 pm the accused assaulted the victim by grabbing her by her throat and throwing her onto a couch.

Male Charged with Break and Enter and Assault

23-year old Corey Blais of 84 Central Street was arrested on the 1st of January just after 2 am. It is alleged that the accused attended at an address in the 300 block of Farwell Terrace and opened the garage door. The owner of the residence attended outside and was kicked in the chest area by the accused. The owner held onto the accused until police arrived. Mr. Blais has been charged with one count of break and enter with the intent to commit an offence, one count of assault, one count of breach of a release order and one count of breach of probation.

Impaired Driving Charges Laid

47-year old Anthony Joseph of 1259 Peoples Road was arrested on New Years Eve around 8 pm and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was driving in an erratic manner in the area of Queen Street East and Centennial Avenue. A concerned citizen observed the vehicle and called City Police. City Police stopped the vehicle in the area of Glen Avenue and observed that the accused displayed signs of impairment. The accused will appear in court on February 6th, 2006.

Break and Enters

On the 1st just before 2 am City Police responded to a break and enter at Rose “N” Designers Hair Salon located at 295 Korah Road. It is unknown if anything was taken at this time.

A motor home that was stored in the 200 block of Bruce Street was broken into and reported on the 1st. It is unknown at this time what was taken but damage was done to the motor home.

Between 1:30 am and 4 am on the 1st person(s) broke into a home in the 100 block of Letcher Street and removed a quantity of money from the home. A phone in the residence was also ripped out of the wall.

Between 4 pm and 11 pm on December 31st thieves broke into a residence in the 100 block of Albert Street East and took a container of coins.

A home in the 400 block of Douglas Street was entered between 12:30 pm and 11:30 on the 1st of January. It is unknown at this time what was taken.

Just before midnight on the 1st of January someone broke into a garage in the 300 block of Goulais Avenue and smashed the windows of a vehicle parked inside. The would be culprits also poured gasoline inside of the vehicle. The culprits were scared off by the homeowner.

On the 2nd of January at homeowner in the 300 block of Goulais Avenue reported a break and enter to their garage overnight. A 2-gallon gas container was taken.
