The following Three Persons are to appear in Bail Court this morning as a result of Domestic Related Incidents:

1) A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 26th of January at 10:25 pm at his residence and was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that from March to May 2008 the accused assaulted his common law spouse at their residence on three different occasions. The assaults included the victim being thrown down the stairs while pregnant and being slapped and punched in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical attention as a result of the assaults. It is further alleged that since their relationship ended at the end of September 2008 until now, the accused has continuously harassed the same victim and repeatedly communicated with her by e-mailing her, threatening her and contacting her by phone several times a day. The accused was also wanted by city police for outstanding warrants in relation to Family Law Act offences.

2) A 44 year-old male was arrested on the 27th of January at 3:20 am at a local motel and charged with two counts of breach of a release order. It is alleged that on the 27th of January just before 3 am city police received a call regarding a domestic dispute going on in one of the rooms. When officers arrived and checked on the situation they discovered that the male involved, the accused was on a recognizance release order not to communicate with the female he was having the dispute with. He was further breaching the order by not notifying his change of address from a Sudbury residence as directed in the same order.

3) A 22 year-old male was arrested on the 26th of January at 7:40 am at the city police station on an outstanding domestic related warrant. He was charged with one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation in relation to an incident the occurred on the 18th of January when the accused called his ex-girlfriend on the phone and threatened to kill her. The victim hung up on him and shortly afterwards the accused showed up at her door. She refused to let him in and he started smashing beer bottles near her door and began to throw rocks at her window. He continuously yelled threats that he was going to kill her and everyone else in her apartment.

Youth Charged after Damaging Doors at a Local Youth Home:

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested on the 26th of January at 9:33 at a local Youth Residence and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that around 3 pm on the 25th of January the accused while in an agitated state at the home, damaged two doors inside the residence by kicking them. He is to appear in court on the 10th of March.

Male Arrested for Assault at Local Bar:

20 year-old Ryan Gardner of 148 Tilley Road was arrested on the 27th of January at 2:55 am on Tilley Road and charged with one count of assault. At approximately 1:43 am this morning city police were called to a disturbance involving three males fighting at a centrally located bar. It is alleged that when a bar staff member attempted to break the fight up, he was punched in the face by the accused. The accused is to appear in court on the 2nd of March.

Theft Reports:


• Vehicles were reported entered in the 100 block of Albert Street West, the 100 block of Tancred Street and on Forest Avenue. Items stolen included two car stereo faceplates and some money.
• A rear licence plate was stolen off a vehicle parked on Douglas Street on the 26th of January.
