Motor Vehicle Collisions Resulting in Charges 41-year-old Kimberly Kienhofer of 276 Pickard Road in Goulais River, Ontario was involved in a motor vehicle collision on the 25th of January 2010 at 4:35 p.m. on Queen Street West near Huron Street.
Motor Vehicle Collisions Resulting in Charges

41-year-old Kimberly Kienhofer of 276 Pickard Road in Goulais River, Ontario was involved in a motor vehicle collision on the 25th of January 2010 at 4:35 p.m. on Queen Street West near Huron Street. It is alleged that the accused was driving her car westbound on Queen Street West (just east of Huron Street) when she attempted to change lanes but struck another car that was traveling beside her in that lane. This vehicle then lost control and struck a snow bank. Mrs. Kienhofer was issued a Provincial Offence Act summons for making an unsafe lane change. The accused and the 56-year-old female driver of the other motor vehicle received minimal injuries as a result of the collision. These injuries did not require medical attention. Damage to both vehicles was moderate.

A 16-year-old male driver was involved in a collision at the intersection of Bay Street at Elgin Street on the 25th of January 2010 at 8:30 a.m. It is alleged that the accused was driving his car eastbound on Bay Street and failed to stop for a red light at the intersection at Elgin Street. As a result, the accused vehicle was struck by a southbound car on Elgin Street that had entered the intersection on a green light. This vehicle was being operated by a 35-year-old female. The accused was issued a summons under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for failing to stop for a red light. The accused received no injuries while the female driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance for minor non-life threatening injuries. The accused vehicle sustained light damage while the other vehicle sustained moderate damage as a result of the collision.

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

A 27-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck on the 25th of January 2010 at 1:17 p.m. on Huron Street at Queen Street West. It is alleged that the pedestrian was crossing Huron Street west from the northeast corner of the intersection but did so against the pedestrian no cross signal. As a result, she walked into the path of a motor vehicle that had effected a left hand turn from Queen Street West onto Huron Street. She was taken to hospital via ambulance where she was treated for minor non-life threatening injuries. The 51-year-old driver of the pickup truck was uninjured in the collision.

Theft of Vehicle

Two 17-year-old male young offenders allegedly stole a pickup truck from a residence in the 500 block of Parliament Street. On the 26th of January 2010 at approximately 12:55 a.m. the two youths entered the motor vehicle and attempted to back it out of the driveway after starting it. The resident was alerted and was able to run outside and apprehend the two accused parties before they drove off. Police were subsequently called and the youths were charged with theft and possession of stolen property. Both were released with a court date of the 2nd of March 2010.

Mischief Charge

21-year-old Troy Wabigwan of 387 Cathcart Street was arrested on the 25th of January 2010 at his residence by police after allegedly becoming upset and causing damage at that location. The accused smashed a hole through one of the interior walls and also damaged a window. He was charged with mischief and is compelled to attend court on the 1st of March 2010.

Drug Arrest From January 20th Search Warrant

24-year-old David Arthur MacLary of 297 McNabb Street was arrested on the 25th of January 2010 at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service after turning himself in on outstanding charges stemming from a January 20th search warrant at his residence. It is alleged that on that date a search warrant was executed by members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit, Patrol Services, along with the assistance of the Joint Forces Intelligence Unit and Provincial Organized Crime Enforcement Team. A small quantity of drugs was located including Methamphetamine, oxycodone and codeine tablets, and marihuana. A quantity of cash and drug paraphernalia was also seized. The accused Arthur MacLary was not home at the time the warrant was executed. He has been charged with Trafficking in a controlled drug or substance as well as possession of a controlled drug or substance x 2. Mr. MacLary was released and is compelled to attend court on the 08th of March 2010.


Male Charged For Failing To Provide Breath Sample

64-year-old Lester Mihelic of 603 Douglas Street had entered Canada Customs after crossing the International Bridge on the 25th of January 2010 at 9:55 p.m. It is alleged that a Customs Officer believed the accused to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently demanded a sample of his breath at which point Mr. Mihelic refused. Police attended and charged the accused with failing to provide a breath sample. Mr. Mihelic was released with a court date of the 01 March 2010.

Break and Enters

A residence in the 500 block of Parliament Street was broken into sometime in the early evening on the 25th of January 2010. A television and playstation console was taken.

A residence on James Street was entered sometime during the afternoon and early evening hours of the 25th of January 2010. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

A residence in the 500 block of Sherbourne Street was broken into sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on the 25th of January 2010. A laptop was stolen.
