Man Charged with Assault of Two Women

On Monday Jan 22nd at approx. 2:30 Am Andre Laine was involved in an argument with two females. During the course of the argument Mr. Laine punched one of the females and then produced a canister of pepper spray and proceeded to spray both females in the face. Police were called and subsequently arrested the accused. At the time of this incident the accused was on Probation. Charged with Assault, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public X2 and Breach of Probation X4 is Andre Laine, age 22, of 622 Albert St.W. He will be appearing in court on Feb 26th.

Domestic Assault

At approx. 2:00 Pm yesterday afternoon City Police arrested a 25-year-old male in regards to domestic assault. It is alleged that between March 2006 and Jan. 2007 the accused assaulted his common law partner on four different occasions. Two of the assaults consisted of the accused punching and choking the victim. In on of the other incidents the accused is said to have thrown bedposts and other objects at the victim. In the fourth assault the accused is alleged to have thrown a knife at the victim. The victim did require medical attention for a laceration to her arm. The accused is charged with Assault X2 and Assault with a Weapon X2. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Female Charged with Assault & Breach

On January 19th at approx. 2:30 Am a 19-year-old female attended at the downtown address of a female known to her. While there the accused assaulted the victim and a friend by punching, kicking and biting the victims. The accused was subsequently arrested on Jan 22nd. The accused Meagan Catherine MacIntrye, of 76 St. Andrews Terr. is charged with Assault X2 and Breach of Probation X2. She will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 Am.

Impaired Driver

At approx. 1:00 AM this morning City Police were called to attend at the intersection of Allen’s Side Rd. and Wallace Terr. in regards to a vehicle in the ditch. The driver, who left the scene, was located by the police and found to be impaired. As a result Erron Couturier, age 31, of 1001 Second Line W. was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80mgs. He will be appearing in court on Feb 26th.

Break & Enter

City Police received three reports of Break and Enter yesterday. A residence in the 100 block of Patricia Ave. was entered and a sum of U.S. money was stolen. Thieves stole a quantity of CD’s after breaking into a garage in the 200 block of St. James St.

Anyone See Him?

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male youth seen leaving the construction site at St. Basil’s School on St. George’s Ave. The youth is believed to have broken into the work site trailer and stolen a lap top computer. Suspect was wearing a blue jacket and was heading east towards Great Northern Rd. Mischief

City Police are also investigating two reports of mischief. A fence at a residence in the 600 block of Wallace Terr. was damaged as was a truck parked in the 400 block of Northern Ave. E.

City Police investigated numerous collisions yesterday. Most were weather related. Please slow down when approaching intersects. The roads can be slippery with the freshly fallen snow.
