Three Males Charged

On the 9th of January a homeowner in the 1000 block of Old Goulais Bay Road called to report that just after 2 am they returned home to find their 2004 Artic Cat snow machine in the roadway and a vehicle they didn’t recognize was in their driveway. Patrol Officers, assisted by the Canine Unit and Police Dog Tazer, tracked the 3 suspects to an address in the 1000 block of People’s Road just before 5 am. The three males were arrested and taken into custody. Officers from Investigation Services continued to work on this investigation in the morning and also learned that the three accused allegedly stole a gas can and tools from a garage in the 1000 block of Old Goulais Bay Road. The following persons will appear in bail court:

20-year old Mitchell Waite of 4-174 Central Park Crescent has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. He has also been charged with one count of breach of a release order as he was on conditions not to associate with Gary Guise.

20-year old Gary Guise of 106-1046 Peoples Road has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of break and enter and commit and offence.

19-year old Gary Marini of 224 Wallace Terrace has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of break and enter and commit an offence.

Reminder

In light of the theft of the above snow machine City Police would like to remind owners of snow machines that they can take steps to prevent becoming a victim of this type of crime. If at all possible, keep your machine in a garage or shed area that is secure. If you cannot secure the machine in a building then keep the area it is in well light up at night. If you drive around with your snow machine in the back of your pickup truck or on a trailer, ensure that the machine is chained in.

Search Warrant For Residence on Allard Street

Last evening officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence on Allard Street. Officers located 135 grams of marijuana as well as a quantity of money. The estimated street value of the narcotics is just over $2,000. 55-year old Randell Tucker of 409-94 Allard Street has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking. He will appear in court on February 13th.

Break and Enters

A homeowner in the 100 block of Albert Street East reported that unknown persons had entered the residence but that nothing had been taken.

Sometime between 10 pm on the 9th and 1:40 am on the 10th of January a home in the 100 block of Second Line West was entered. A TV was damaged and the owner is still determining what was taken at the time of this report.
