Two Assault Charges A 46-year old male will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that last evening the accused assaulted his common-law wife by slapping her. The incident occurred in a west end residence.

A 46-year old male will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that last evening the accused assaulted his common-law wife by slapping her. The incident occurred in a west end residence. The accused has been charged with one count of assault.

41-year old Donald Fraser of 84 Robin Street was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted another male known to him by grabbing the victim by the throat and pushing him to the ground. The accused will appear in court on March 13th.

Male Unable To Pay Cab Gets Arrested On Outstanding Warrant

42-year old Adrian Biron of 2-321 Albert Street East will appear in court on March 13th after being arrested last evening. The accused allegedly took a taxicab and then was unable to pay the fare. City Police were called. When the officers arrived they found out that the accused was wanted on a warrant for one count of fraud and one count of false pretences. The male was arrested on the outstanding warrant and also charged with one count of fraud in relation to the fare.

Police Respond to 19 Motor Vehicle Collisions Yesterday

Yesterday between 8 am and 9 pm City Police responded to 19 motor vehicle collisions. A number of the accidents can be attributed to road conditions and drivers not adjusting their driving to the conditions.

The first collision of the day, just before 8 am, did reduced the movement of traffic in the area of Second Line East and North Street and resulted in injuries to one person. A car operated by Maria Paganucci of 37 Kitchener Rd and a car operated by David Irwin of 27 Fields Square were both stopped on North Street in the northbound lane at Second Line East. A car operated by Christine Trivers of Echo Bay was traveling eastbound on Second Line East when it is alleged that a car operated by Victor Grzeda of 1003 Fourth Line East was traveling west bound on Second Line East and attempted to turn onto North Street turning into the path of the Trivers vehicle. The Grzeda vehicle and the Trivers vehicle collided. The Grzeda vehicle then spun and hit the Paganucci vehicle and the Irwin vehicle. A passenger in the Trivers vehicle received non-life threatening injuries, but did not require medical attention at the time of the collision yesterday. Traffic Services is continuing their investigation into this matter.

A car operated by Richard Kolton of 928 Airport Road was traveling eastbound on Base Line Road yesterday morning around 8:30 am, when the vehicle lost control on the road and slid into an unattended car that was in the ditch. Road conditions were described as being icy at the time. Both vehicles received light damage. Both Mr. Kolton and his passenger, Catherine Kolton received non-life threatening injuries and were treated by personnel from the Sault Ambulance Service who also attended at the scene. No charges have been laid in this collision.

3 Reported Break And Enters

Between February 3rd and February 6th the rear compound at the PUC located at 510 Second Line East was entered. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.

Between the 5th of February and the 6th of February thieves attempted to break into a residence in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue. Nothing was taken but a door to the residence was damaged.

Between 9 pm last evening and 1:30 am this morning a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West was entered. A Niko receiver and speakers were taken.
