Two Persons Charged in Relation to Theft Incidents: Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30 year-old Raymond Reid of 339 Korah Road yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.00.

Two Persons Charged in Relation to Theft Incidents:  

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30 year-old Raymond Reid of 339 Korah Road yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.00.  It is alleged that on the 25th of February the accused, while working at a local electronics business, made a fictitious product return valued at $45.14 and retained that value in cash. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of March.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged 32 year-old Carrie-Lynn Boudreau of 729 Metzger Street at 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation.  It is alleged that on the 27th of February the accused attended at Sears and stole some merchandise.  She is to appear in court on the 2nd of April.

Male Arrested for Drug Possession and Breaching Release Documents:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team arrested 20 year-old Andrew Petts of #6-125 Gore Street at approximately 2 pm yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of breach of a release document, one count of breach of probation and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon while on a weapon prohibition order.   

It is alleged that on the 27th of February just before 2 pm, officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Huron Street.  Upon stopping the vehicle, officers observed Andrew Petts in the driver's seat, and could detect the smell of freshly burnt cannabis coming from the vehicle.  Inside the vehicle, officers observed a digital scale that had a white powdery residue on it, believed to be cocaine.  Pepper spray was also located in the vehicle. 

At the time of the incident the accused was bound by the conditions of a recognizance order with conditions to abstain from the possession of non-prescription drugs and was also bound by the conditions of a weapons prohibition to abstain from the possession of prohibited weapons.  Further, he was bound by the conditions of a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior.  He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team arrested 41 year-old Donald Turner of 168 Andrew Street yesterday afternoon on an outstanding warrant at his residence and charged him with one count of fail to appear court.  It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on the 28th of June 2011 in relation to fraud and impaired driving related charges.  He is to appear in court on the 2nd of April.

Break and Enter/Theft Reports:  

  • A business on Second Line West was broken into sometime between the 26th and 27th of February.  Cash was reporters taken. 
  • A Craftsman snowblower was stolen from a property on Old Garden River Road. 
  • Items, including money and licence plates were taken from vehicles on Elmwood Avenue, Pine Street and Albion Street.
