Breach of Release Order A 39-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of breach of a release order.
Breach of Release Order

A 39-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that on the 26th of February the accused made two phone calls to his ex-wife while on conditions prohibiting him from communicating with her.

Impaired Driving

Just before 2 am this morning officers from Patrol Services attended at Trunk Road and Lake Street for a single motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that a car operated by 41-year old Mary Sutherland of 276 Dacey Road was traveling eastbound on Trunk Road approaching Lake Street when she lost control of her vehicle and spun and struck a snow bank on the northeast corner. Officer attended at the intersection and noted that the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The accused was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. She will appear in court on April 2nd.

Assault

20-year old Loren Cote of 2-362 Queen Street East was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 26th of February the accused assaulted a male known to him by pushing and punching him. The victim did not require medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The accused will appear in court on April 2nd.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm

39-year old Marcel Sutherland of 20-864 Queen Street East was arrested just before 1 am this morning and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female victim by punching her several times. The incident occurred in an east end residence. The accused and victim are known to each other but this is not a domestic related incident. The victim was taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The accused will appear in court on April 2nd.

Home Invasion

Yesterday afternoon a female in the 600 block of Albert Street West reported that she was in her residence when a male entered her home, threatened her with what was possibly a knife and demanded her money. The male left the residence and it is unknown at this time if he received any money. The victim was not physically harmed in the incident. The suspect is described as being a male, approximately 5’3” tall, wearing a blue balaclava, blue jeans with ripped knees, a black jacket with a patch on the back with a picture of a bike as well as an eagle with spread wings. There may also be a rose on the patch. The suspect wore black running shoe and gloves.

Break & Enters

1) Yesterday morning just before 12 noon a homeowner in the 100 block of Gibbs Street heard two male attempting to break into his home and scared them off. The suspects are described as both being in their teens. One of the suspects was approximately 5’4” tall, with a chunky build and had brown hair. He was wearing a red and grey winter jacket, tan pants and black snow boots. The second suspect was wearing a black and grey winter jacket with the hood pulled up. Both males fled south on Gibbs Street.

2) Yesterday between 5 pm and 6 pm thieves broke into a home on Alexandra Street. Several areas of the home had been gone through but it appears that nothing was taken.
