Domestic Related Arrest for Bail Court Appearance:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 53 year-old female on the 14th of February at 1:43 am and charged her with one count of mischief under $5,000.00 and two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 14th of February at approximately 12:31 am the accused attended at the residence of her ex-boyfriend, smashed beer bottles in the foyer of his home and damaged his vehicle in the driveway. At the time the accused was on a recognizance peace bond with conditions not to molest, harass or physically interfere with him and was to keep the peace and be good. She is to appear in bail court this morning.
Street Team Arrest Female in Relation to Marijuana Grow at her Residence:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team arrested 25 year-old Lynn Macdonald of #1-320 Pim Street on the 13th of February and charged her with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that when officers were conducting an investigation at the residence of the accused yesterday, they discovered a marijuana grow. Officers seized 13 marijuana plants from a two stage grow operation, 2 grams of marijuana ,23 grams of marijuana shake, lights, fans, plant food and timers. Total value of the drugs seized was $13,043.00. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of March.
Shoplifting Related Charges:
On the 13th of February, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32 year-old Andre Gagan of 222 Albert Street East at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 13th of February at approximately 3:51 pm the accused attended at the store and stole a sweater valued at $24.97. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of March.
Female Charged with Assault:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37 year-old Shawna Lacasse of 139 Kohler Street (upstairs) on the 13th of February and charged her with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 13th of February the accused assaulted a female known to her. No injuries were reported. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of February.
Break and Enter Reports:
- A residence on Tilley Road was broken into on the 10th of February. Two firearms and some ammunition were reported stolen.
- A residence on Young Street was broken into last night. Liquor, an iPhone 3G, an iPad, a Nikon digital camera and a Samsung digital recorder were reported stolen.
- A residence on Bainbridge was broken into yesterday afternoon. A laptop, 2iPods and cash were reported stolen.
- An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence on Muriel Drive. Two window screens were reported damage as a result.
- A local elementary school was broken into overnight. Offices were entered but it is unknown at this time what was taken.
- A garage on Goulais Avenue was entered.
