Male arrested for Impaired Driving:
At approximately 5:20 this morning officers with the Patrol Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Street and East Street. It was determined that the vehicle, a silver Pontiac Gand Am failed to negotiate the curve while travelling West on Wellington Street. The vehicle struck the curb on the center median causing it to roll over and come to rest in the front yard of a nearby address.
As a result of the investigation, 23 year old Kenneth Meincke of 644 Wellington Street East was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. The accused was treated for non life-threatening injuries and will appear in court on January 7th 2013.
Property Crimes:
A vehicle was reported broken into in the 400 block of Pim Street. A black Coach purse was stolen.

A guitar was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Leo Avenue.

An I-Phone was stolen from an office at a business in the 100 block of Great Northern Road.

A residence was reported broken into in the 100 block of Turner Avenue. A Wii game console, cell phone, wallet and jewelry were reported stolen. The culprits entered the residence through an unlocked door.
