Female Shoplifter to appear in bail court: Yesterday afternoon a 26-year-old female was arrested by store security at Rome’s Independent Grocers for theft under $ 5,000.00. City police attended and the accused was turned over to the officers.

Yesterday afternoon a 26-year-old female was arrested by store security at Rome’s Independent Grocers for theft under $ 5,000.00. City police attended and the accused was turned over to the officers. It is alleged that at approx. 3:40 pm the accused attempted to steal approx. $ 130.00 worth of meat and electronic products from the store. Store security apprehended the accused when she left the store. Further investigation of the accused revealed that she was wanted on two warrants- one for failing to appear for court and the other for transportation fraud.
Lynn Kwissiwa, age 26, of 696 Pine St. Apt 1A is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000, one count of failing to appear for court and one count of transportation fraud.

Break and enter:


The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated one report of a break and enter yesterday. A young male was seen breaking into a garage in the 100 block of Second Line W. and then attempting to steal a snowmachine at that location. The suspect was seen leaving the area at approx. 11:30 am going north towards Churchill Ave. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the city police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Theft:

A lap top computer was reported stolen from a residence in the100 block of Carufel Ave yesterday.
