Domestic Related Arrests:

1) A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 14th of December at 1:45 pm at his residence and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that on the 14th of December the accused assaulted his girlfriend at their residence and then further assaulted her sister when she attempted to intervene. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 28 year-old male was arrested on the 14th of December at 8:10 pm at an east end residence and charged with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 14th of December at 8:10 pm city police received a domestic dispute call to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and when they arrived they located the accused hiding in a bedroom. At the time the accused was on probation conditions as a result of previous domestic related incidents not to communicate with her or to attend at her residence. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Persons Arrested during Drug Warrant:

On the 14th of December 20009 at 11:18 am, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team and the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at 298 Fifth Avenue, upstairs, the residence of 20 year-old Travis Jenson and 20 year-old Jasmine Bergamin. During the course of the search, officers located 38.6 grams of marijuana, packaging materials, 2 digital scales and various other articles of drug paraphernalia. As a result, both were charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled drug or substance. The estimated street value of drugs seized is $770.00. Travis Jenson was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for weapons offences from April 2008 and was charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. They are both to appear in court on the 27th of January.

Male Youth Charged with Sexual Related Offences:

A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 14th of December at 4:25 pm at the city police station and charged with one count of sexual interference, one count of invitation to sexual touching and one count of sexual assault. It is alleged that between May and December the accused sexually asaulted and touched a female under the age of 16 in an inappropriate sexual manner. The accused and the victim are known to each other. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of January.

Shoplifting Arrests:

1) 24 year-old Lindsay Aelick of 56 Willow Avenue was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 14th of December at 3:31 pm at Canadian Tire after she allegedly attended at the store and stole a video camera. She is to attend in court on the 25th of January.

2) 23 year-old Ryan Wills of 627 Lennox Avenue was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 14th of December at 8:50 pm at the Metro Store on Northern Avenue after he allegedly attended at the store and stole various hair products and coffee. He is to appear in court on the 18th of January.

Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:

1) 24 year-old Krystal Hart was arrested on the 14th of December on outstanding warrants at her residence and charged with one count of breach of probation, one count of fail to appear court and one count of theft under $5,000.00. She is to attend in court on the 25th of January.

2) 25 year-old Brent Stubbington of 797 Pine Street (main) was arrested on the 14th of December at 7:30 am at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant,. He was charged with one count of breach of a release order for failing to sign in at the John Howard Society as required in his court order. He was to appear in bail court yesterday.
