Break In A west end residence was broken into sometime between midnite and 5:30 am on the 11th of December. The owner returned home to find their side door forced open. The only thing taken was a small quantity of pills.

A west end residence was broken into sometime between midnite and 5:30 am on the 11th of December. The owner returned home to find their side door forced open. The only thing taken was a small quantity of pills.

Possession of stolen property

City Police patrol officers arrested 19 year old Jason Genua of 23 Churchill Blvd. with one count of possession of stolen property. Mr. Genua attended to a west end pawnbroker on the 10th of December and pawned 2 knives. It was later determined that these two knives were stolen during a Break and Enter from a residence on Peoples Rd. which occurred on December the 4th. Mr. Genua will appear in Provincial Court on the 14th of January 2013.

Update: Male arrested for Internet Crimes

On the 10th of December officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Technological Crime Unit arrested 29 year old James Christopher Michael Onraet-Taylor for several internet related offences.  It is alleged that between August 2012 and November 25th 2012 the accused communicated with a female victim known to him for a sexual purpose via the internet.  The accused has been charged with four counts of internet luring for the purpose of committing offences including; the creation of child pornography, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.  He will appear in bail court today.  The Sault Ste. Break and Enter

A break and enter was reported to an unlocked apartment on Pittsburgh Street.  Taken was an Xbox.

Shoplifiting

25 year old Ashley Mary Paul of 564 Douglas Street was arrested and charged with theft.  It is alleged that on the 10Dec12 at approximately 6:34 p.m.  the accused Paul took a purse valued at $55.00 and attempted to leave the Sears store in the Station Mall.
