The past 48 hours were relatively quiet in Sault Ste Marie. The Police Service responded to approx. 130 calls. BREAK & ENTERS During this time period there were four reported break and enters. Break-ins took place in the 100 block of St.

BREAK & ENTERS
During this time period there were four reported break and enters. Break-ins took place in the 100 block of St. Georges Ave, the 200 block of Goulais Ave, the 300 block of Elizabeth St and the in 100 block of Creery Ave.- where jewelry and electronic equipment were stolen.

VEHICLES BROKEN INTO
During this same time frame seven vehicles were entered and items stolen from them. In one incident a car window was smashed to gain entry.

CAR FIRE
On Monday August 4th at approx. 9:30 am the City Police assisted the Fire Dept. in putting out a fire to a van in the area of 293 St. Georges Ave. E. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

EGG THROWING
There were two more incidents of egg throwing reported on Monday night. These took place in the East Champagne and Goulais Ave areas. In one incident a brown or burgundy coloured mini van with wood grain trim was seen leaving the area.

CITY POLICE CALL IN OPP
At approx 5:29 am this morning police officers observed a suspicious vehicle at the rear of the Zellers Store on Northern Ave. When officers attempted to stop this vehicle the occupants sped off. The police officers then began a police pursuit. The vehicle was followed along Northern Ave to Pine St. and back onto Northern Ave before the suspects fled north on Great Northern Rd. heading towards the City limits. The vehicle that the police officers were attempting to stop had been reported stolen in British Columbia. The O.P.P. were called to assist in the pursuit when it was determined that the vehicle was heading out of town. At the time of this report the vehicle is still being followed by the O.P.P.
