Domestic Related Arrest: One male will be appearing in bail court this morning regarding a domestic related incident.
Domestic Related Arrest:

One male will be appearing in bail court this morning regarding a domestic related incident. The 28 year-old male was arrested on the 26th of August at 1:45 am on Queen Street East and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 26th of August around 1:45 am the accused assaulted his girlfriend while at a local downtown bar by grabbing her around the neck. When the accused was leaving the bar it is further alleged that he broke the bar door window by punching it. When officers were investigating the incident they discovered that the accused had assaulted the same victim earlier at her residence after an argument earlier in the evening.

Two Arrested after Police Interrupt Teen Party:

Last evening just before 10 pm, City police attended at a residence on South Market Street after receiving information that a female youth wanted on a warrant was there. When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered a party with several teens in attendance. When the youths observed the police several fled on foot. A 17 year-old female was located hiding in a ditch area close to the residence. When police checked the female she was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. When officers were arresting her, a male friend took objection and obstructed them by continuously attempting to pull the female away, swearing and yelling at the officers and refusing to leave when directed.
As a result the 17 year-old female youth was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and is to appear in court on the 30th of September.
The 18 year-old male friend, Josh Smythe of #4-183 James Street was arrested and charged with one count of obstruct peace officer and one count of breach of probation, as at the time of the offence he was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in court on the 29th of September.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

56 year-old Consuelo Marshall of #3-341 Devon Road was arrested on the 25th of August at 11:12 am at the court house on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 11th of August. She is to appear in court on the 29th of September.

Property Crimes:

City police Investigating a Break and Enter at Carmine’s Pizza on Pim Street:

City police responded to a break and enter in progress at approximately 2:24 am this morning to Carmine’s Pizza on Pim Street. Officers received information from a witness that heard the sound of glass smashing at the business and observed a male going inside. Officers immediately arrived on scene and observed a male fleeing on foot to the rear of the business towards Poplar Avenue. Police took chase and when the youth got onto a Poplar Avenue, he jumped into a waitng vehicle that had the lights turned off. The vehicle, described as a dark coloured, newer model, Nissan Altima sped off towards the YMCA. Officers were unsuccessful in located the vehicle. The male suspect was described as being in his late teens, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, dark short hair, clean cut, wearing a long sleeve polo type striped shirt.

Mischief Reports Taken Yesterday:

• A fence at the Great Lakes Power Substation on Third Line East was damaged as a result of being cut.
• A vehicle parked at Prouse Motors on Great Northern Road was scratched sometime between 6 pm on the 22nd of August and 7 am on the 25th.
• A City bus window was smashed out.
• A residence on Birchland Court was egged for the third time this month sometime over the weekend.
• A vehicle on Princeton Drive was rummaged through.

Theft Reports Taken Yesterday:

• Vehicles were entered overnight on the 25th of August on Parkview Court, Wellington Street West, Ruth Street, 1000 block of Lake Street, Gillies Street and Bonney Street. Items reported stolen were an IPOD Shuffle, a GPS, a purse, a licence plate and a fuel truck ignition key.
• Gas was siphoned out of a vehicle on Market Street.
• A 12 volt Johnson Trolling motor was stolen from a boat in the side yard of a residence on Elmwood Avenue sometime between August 1st and the 17th.
• A 12 speed bike was stolen from Alexandra Street.

A garage on Terrance Avenue was entered sometime after 9 pm on the 24th of August to 8 am on the 25th.
Approximately $60.00 worth of gas was stolen.
