BREAK & ENTER On the 18th of August at around 2:30 a.m., the accused, Dawn Daybutch age 25 of R.R#2, Box 32 Fisherman Trout Lake, Kevin Simms, age 24 of 49 Vera St.
BREAK & ENTER
On the 18th of August at around 2:30 a.m., the accused, Dawn Daybutch age 25 of R.R#2, Box 32 Fisherman Trout Lake, Kevin Simms, age 24 of 49 Vera St. and Ryan Souliere age 20 of 660 Hwy 17 Garden River allegedly committed a break and enter to a residence on Boundary Road and stole a DVD Player.

The homeowner was able to follow the three to a local corner store where he confronted Daybutch at which time she struck him in the face. She was further charged with assault.

A further police records check showed Simms to be on release documents and was also charged with a breach of the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. All three appeared in bail court yesterday with court dates to follow this fall.


SOME FRIEND
On the 17th of June, the accused Steven D?Orazio age 20 of 360 Sixth Ave., spent the night at a friend?s residence. When the resident awoke on the morning of the 18th June, D?Orazio was gone and also the VCR. Police were contacted but were unable to locate D?Orazio.

On the 18th of Aug. 2003 just after 2:00 a.m., the accused Steven D'Orazio was observed walking westbound on Second Line West by Patrol Officers and was arrested and charged for the theft.

Further police records check revealed he was on probation and was subsequently charged for breach of probation. He is to appear in court on the 22 Sept. 2003.


GROCERY STORE THEFT
On the 17th of Aug. 2003 in the early afternoon, Janet Nicholls age 35 of 267 Huron St. and Sandra Laine age 38 of 28 Cathcart St. allegedly committed theft from a local grocery store.

Both Laine and Nicholls were observed taking a number of grocery items, concealing them and exiting the store.

Store security arrested the females and held them until Patrol Officers arrived and charged them with theft. Both have a Sept. 29th court date.


MISCHIEF & BREACH OF PROBATION
On the 17th of Aug. 2003 City Police Officers were called to a west end residence at 10:00 a.m. in regards to an intoxicated male causing a domestic disturbance.

The intoxicated person was on probation not to communicate with the victim and over the past weekend had contacted the victim numerous times by telephone.

On the 17th of Aug. 2003, the accused showed up at the victims? home and while in the home caused a small amount of damage. Police Officers were called to the residence and found the accused had already left. He was located a short distance away and arrested and charged with mischief and breach of probation. A late Sept. court date has been scheduled.


LOOK, THEN WALK
City Police Officers responded to a car accident at Bloor St. and Morin St. around 8:00 p.m. last evening. The Officers investigation revealed that a 12-year-old female walked onto the roadway without looking and walked into the side of a vehicle being driven by 58 year old Rudolph Dannrath of 612 Shafer Ave. The 12 year old received minor injuries not requiring medical attention. No charges have been laid.


RUNS RED LIGHT-MINOR INJURIES
In another motor vehicle collision from yesterday afternoon, Ann Predinchuk, age 52 of 418 Lake St. has been charged under the Highway Traffic of Ontario with failing to stop for a red light.

A vehicle being driven by Epieanio Cistaro, age 78 of 58 Lindstedt was south bound on Spring St. when the eastbound vehicle being driven by Predinchuk went through the red light at Bay St. and struck his vehicle.

The Predinchuk vehicle, a 1991 Ford van, and the Cistaro vehicle, a 1985 Buick Sedan received major damage. Tammy Predinchuk, age 32, a passenger in the Predinchuk vehicle received minor injuries. She was treated at Sault Area Hospital and released.


QUEEN & EAST ACCIDENT
Jeffrey Robert Davis age 24 of 79 Pilgrim St. has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada, fail to remain and driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

At 10:44 p.m., City Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Queen St. East and East St. A 1990 blue GMC pickup being driven erratically by Davis on East St. attempted to negotiate a turn on to Queen St., lost control and struck a wooden/metal flower box.

Two passengers in the Davis vehicle, a 13-year-old male and a 17-year-old male received minor injuries. Davis was transported to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries. The truck was moderately damaged in the collision. Davis will appear in court on Sept. 22, 2003.


EARLY MORNING CAR FIRE
City Police Officers responded to a car on fire on McQueen Rd. just before 3:00 a.m. this morning. A neighbor could hear noises and contacted City Police to advise that a car parked in the driveway was on fire.

Unknown person(s) started the car on fire and then stole a Grey 1990 GMC Pickup parked in the driveway. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this occurrence is asked to contact City Police at (705) 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.
