Female arrested for assault Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 53-year-old female for assault.

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 53-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at the downtown residence of her granddaughter and while there assaulted her. The victim, a teenaged girl, did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault and is to appear in court on September 19th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated three reports of break and enters yesterday.
Break –ins were reported at the following locations:
1. A residence in the 100 block of London St. - jewellery was reported stolen.

2. An apartment in the 700 block of Wellington St. W - exercise equipment was stolen.

3. A residence in the 100 block of Capp Ave- a guitar and electronic equipment was stolen.

Mischief
Vehicles windows were damaged in the following locations:
The 700 block of Wellington St. E., the 100 block of Church St., the 600 block of Queen St. E., the 100 block of Brock St and the 400 block of Queen St. E.

Theft
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service received eight reports of theft from vehicles yesterday. Vehicles were entered in the 100 block of McFadden Ave, the 600 block of Wellington St. W – 2 vehicles, the 100 block of Market St., the 100 block of East St., the 600 block of Portage Lane, the 600 block of Queen St. E. and the 100 block of Heath Rd. items stolen include: A wallet, a purse, a medical bag with medical equipment, sporting equipment, electronic items and cash.
