One person will be appearing in bail court this morning. Anne Sutherland, age 29, of 27 Terry Fox Pl. apt # 212, was arrested yesterday evening and charged with one count of robbery.

Anne Sutherland, age 29, of 27 Terry Fox Pl. apt # 212, was arrested yesterday evening and charged with one count of robbery. It is alleged that on February 23rd 2008 the accused and a male co-accused attended at the residence of a male person, known to them, and while there they tied up the victim assaulted and threatened him until he revealed his ATM PIN number. The two accused are then alleged to have withdrawn a quantity of cash from the victim’s account. The male suspect has not yet been apprehended.

Assault on Second Line

Yesterday afternoon city police were dispatched to the 300 block of Second Line W. regarding an assault. Upon arrival officers received information from a female victim and subsequently arrested two females. It is alleged that Toni Binda and Kristi Lacko assaulted the victim by grabbing her by the hair, punching her, spitting on her and kicking her. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault but did not require medical treatment.
Kristi Lacko, age 23, of 63 Chippewa St. is charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening. Toni Binda (female), age 25, of 500 Wallace Terr Apt. # 2 is charged with one count of assault. Both accused will be appearing in court on May 12th at 9:00 am.

Robbery

Yesterday the Sault Ste Marie Police Service received a complaint of a robbery. It was reported that at approx. 2:30 pm two male youths, leaving the Station Mall while carrying an X-Box were approached by two adult males in the parking lot of the Steelback Centre. The two adults then threatened the victims and forcibly stole the X-Box from the youths. The suspects were last seen running east through the Steelback parking lot. The two suspects are described as:

White males, 18-21 years of age, 5’8” tall, med build, short hair, wearing dark grey hoodie, one had fake fur trim, and dark pants. One suspect was described as having acne on his face.


The city police received a report of a stolen vehicle early this morning.

At approx. 1:00 am a 1991 white Chev Blazer with a white Chev decal in the rear window was stolen from the 200 block of Cathcart St.

City police received three reports of mischief yesterday.

Vehicles parked in the 100 block of Hugill St. and in the 100 block of Rushmere Dr. were keyed.
City Transit reports that a bus shelter located on Bay St. was smashed.
