SHOPLIFTERS ARRESTED Yesterday at approximately 1:00 pm, the co-accused a 15-year-old female from Huron Street and a 15-year-old female from the Searchmount area were arrested for Theft under $5000. The accused were arrested for taking $63.
SHOPLIFTERS ARRESTED
Yesterday at approximately 1:00 pm, the co-accused a 15-year-old female from Huron Street and a 15-year-old female from the Searchmount area were arrested for Theft under $5000.

The accused were arrested for taking $63.87 in make-up then attempting to leave the Zellers store at 306 Northern Avenue without paying. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act an alternative measures program was set forth by all parties involved and accepted by the accused's parents as suitable punishment.

The punishment was the cleaning of the parking lot over a set number of hours to be completed by May 7, 2003.


MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Yesterday, the accused, Dante Stortini, age 45 of 190 Church Street was arrested by store security at the Zellers Store in the Station Mall for allegedly stealing $6.35 worth of condiments.

Police officers were called to the store and at 2:05 pm when the accused was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.00. He will appear in court on May 12, 2003.


ARRESTED ON OUTSTANDING WARRANT
Yesterday at approximately 4:05 pm, city police officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Second Line West and spoke with Andrew Hunt, age 22 of 374 Korah Road.

Police informed Hunt that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on a Possession of Stolen Property charge dating back to last year. Hunt agreed to turn himself in and at 4:10pm the accused was transported to the police station where the arrest warrant was executed. He will appear in court on May 26th.
