The following break and enters were reported overnight: 1) On the 2nd of April between the hours of 1:45 pm and 9:25 pm a residence on Hardwood Street was entered. Jewellery was taken.
The following break and enters were reported overnight:

1) On the 2nd of April between the hours of 1:45 pm and 9:25 pm a residence on Hardwood Street was entered. Jewellery was taken.

2) A residence on Third Avenue was entered between 10:30 pm on the 1st of April and 10:25 pm on the 2nd of April. Jewellery was taken.

3) A garage on Tilley Road was entered around 2:30 this morning. The homeowner observed a male running from the garage down Tilley Road towards Willow Avenue. Only description provided was a person 6’ 0”wearing a grey hoody and blue jeans. A freezer was entered inside the garage but it is unknown if anything was taken.

Update to assault
News Release from 7 is on 30th March.

On the 29th of March around 4 pm three males attended in the parking lot of a business on McNabb Street. It is alleged that one of the males entered the business and had a male person known to him come out to the parking lot. Once in the parking lot the three males grabbed and assaulted the victim and swung a bar or a pipe at him. The victim broke free, re -entered the business and called the police. At 7:45 pm City Police located and arrested a 39 year old male at Pine Street and Queen Street east .The two other males are still wanted by the Sault Ste Marie Police for assault. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. Leonardo Greganti, of 72 White Oak Dr. W. is charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. He will be appearing in bail court this morning. The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is asking if anyone witnessed this or has any information regarding this incident, to contact the City Police at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers at 942-7867.


Update to assault – More charges laid:

51 year-old Sauro Greganti of 2345 Base Line Road was arrested after turning himself in at the city police station on the 2nd of April just after 6 am. He was charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm. It is alleged that during the assault the accused also had a handgun in his possession. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Assault

On the 2nd of April just before 8 pm a 19 year-old male was arrested after turning himself in to police in regards to a domestic assault. It is alleged that on the 1st of April at around 9am the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s residence and became upset when she would not let him into the residence. The accused broke a window after punching it and entered the residence. The victim was able to lock herself in a bedroom at which time the accused left the residence. He was charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house. The accused is to appear in court on the 23rd of May.

Robbery From Rome's

55 year-old James Marini of no fixed address was arrested yesterday just before 2 pm and charged with one count of robbery. It is alleged that on that date the accused attended at Rome’s Independent Grocer on Great Northern Road and stole $341.00 in groceries. When a staff member attempted to apprehend the accused it is alleged that he fought with him.. No injuries were reported. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of April.
