Bail Court Arrests:

Two adult males will be appearing in bail court facing charges in relation to domestic related incidents.

Female Arrested for Assault with a Weapon and Breach of Probation:

Emily Murphy, age 20, of 160 Amber Street was arrested yesterday afternoon at the police station and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.  It is alleged that on the 7th of April at approximately 1:40 am the accused struck a female with a beer bottle while at a local downtown bar. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.  At the time the accused breached her probation condition to keep the peace and be good.  She is to appear in court on the 14th of May. 

Two Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:

Michael Bjornaa, age 27, of #2-28 Hughes Street was arrested yesterday morning on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of drive while disqualified and one count of breach of probation.  The accused is to appear in court on the 14th of May. 

Jana Sinclair, age 27, of 311 North Street (upstairs) was arrested yesterday afternoon on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to appear for prints.  She is to appear in court on the 14th of May.

Robbery at Mac’s Mart Under Investigation:

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a robbery that occurred overnight at the Mac’s Mart at 381 McNabb Street.  A lone male, wearing a balaclava and carrying a golf club, entered the store at approximately 12:10 am.  The suspect raised the club and demanded cash from the clerk. The male fled from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and the clerk was not physically injured. 

The male suspect was described as being approximately 5’10, medium build, and was wearing a black balaclava, grey sweater and black pants. The sweater was a hoodie type with writing - possibly Old Navy. 

The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking the public’s assistance.
