Two People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning

23-year old Cassandra Woodcox of RR #2 Trout Lake Road was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of attempt fraud, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of uttering a forged document and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that between the 27th and the 30th of March the accused attempted to cash a stolen cheque that belonged to Flash Delivery. The clerk at a local cheque cashing business became suspicious and contacted the owner of Flash Delivery and as a result the cheque was not cashed. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good.

A 16-year old youth was arrested just before 2 am this morning after an alert citizen contacted City Police to report that the youth was entering vehicles in the Cameron Avenue area. The accused was located and arrested and charged with one count of breach of a release order, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. No vehicles were damaged at the time of the incident and officers did locate a small quantity of change that had been taken from a vehicle.

Impaired driving

45-year old Timothy Hurdle of 68 Wellington Street West was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. At around 2:30 am this morning patrol officers were at the intersection of John Street and Wellington Street West when they observed a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Wellington Street West go through the red light. When officers stopped the accused they noted that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Hurdle will appear in court on May 15th.

Fingerprints

50-year old George Michano of 151 Gore Street was arrested yesterday morning on a warrant for one count of fail to appear for fingerprints. The accused will appear in court on May 15th.

Assault

A 27-year old male was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 8th of April the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by grabbing her by her arm and pushing her. The incident occurred in a downtown residence. The accused will appear in court on May 15th.

Break And Enters

City Police received 2 reports of break and enters yesterday:

A home in the 100 block of Goulais Avenue was entered between 10 pm on the 10th and 2:30 am on the 11th. A computer, a camera and an undisclosed amount of money were taken.

Between April 8th and 11th a residence in the 100 block of Cambridge Place was entered and a stereo was taken.

Wolves

Yesterday afternoon a concerned citizen contacted City Police to advise that a pack of wolves was spotted on the Kinsmen Trails at Hiawatha. If you are planning on walking along the trails keep this in mind.

Theft From Vehicles

Yesterday morning two vehicles were reported being entered overnight on the Morin Street. Money was taken from one vehicle and a hockey stick and CD’s were taken from another.
