Trespassing call leads to drug charges

On Oct. 12, 2017, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27-year-old Michael Gingras of Mission Road for possession of a controlled substance.

It is alleged that just after 11 a.m., the accused was found trespassing at a residence in the 500 block of Cathcart Street. Police were contacted and the accused was taken into custody. Once in custody, officers located a small amount of methamphetamine and a small amount of cocaine in the possession of the accused.

He has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of recognizance. He will appear in court on Nov. 20, 2017.
