The following persons will appear in bail court today: 1) 51-year old Harold Vincent of no fixed address was arrested yesterday morning on outstanding warrants for one count of obstruct justice and 5 counts of breach of release conditions.
The following persons will appear in bail court today:

1) 51-year old Harold Vincent of no fixed address was arrested yesterday morning on outstanding warrants for one count of obstruct justice and 5 counts of breach of release conditions.

2) A 14-year old male youth was arrested last evening and charged with two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). It is alleged that on the 2nd of September the youth threatened to harm two other youths. At the time of the threats the youth was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

3) A 16-year old male youth was arrested just after midnight this morning and charged with one count of breach of a release order and one count of breach of probation under the YCJA. It is alleged that the youth failed to be in their residence during a court imposed curfew.

4) A 32-year old male was arrested just after 3 am this morning and charged with two counts of breach of a release order. It is alleged that on the 30th of August the accused contacted his girlfriend by attending at her residence and speaking with her. At the time of the offence the accused was on a release order not to attend at her address or to communicate with her.

5) A 43-year old male was arrested just before 10 pm last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at his ex-girlfriends place of employment last evening around 6 pm and got into an argument with her. It is alleged that the accused pushed the victim and punched the victim in the face. The victim did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident. The accused was located later and arrested without incident.

Erratic Driving Leads to Possession Charges

Last evening shortly after 11 pm City Police stopped a vehicle on Farwell Terrace after receiving complaints of the vehicle driving in an erratic manner. A search of the vehicle resulted in a small quantity of cocaine being seized by the officers. 18-year old Amanda Forbes of 308 Korah Road has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. She will appear in court on October 16th. A 16-year old female youth was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and will appear in court on October 17th.

Three Charged with Assault

On the 5th of September it is alleged that two 16-year old females and a 15-year old female assaulted another female by punching her and kicking her. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. Officers from the High School Liaison Unit were involved in the investigation. All three females have been charged with one count of assault. The two 16-year old females have each been charged with one count of breach of probation under the YCJA. All three youths will appear in court on October 17th.

Charged with Threatening to Cause Death

A 76-year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused threatened to harm his ex-wife back in April of this year during a phone conversation. The accused will appear in court on October 16th.

Impaired Driving, Threatening Death, Obstructing Police, Resisting Police & Consume Over the Legal Limit

Just before 4 am this morning a concerned citizen called the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to report a suspicious vehicle on Birch Street. When officers attended in the area they locate a male behind the wheel of the parked vehicle, which had the keys in the ignition. Upon speaking with the driver, offices noted an odor of alcohol coming from the male. When officers went to arrest the male for impaired driving it is alleged he resisted arrest and fought with the officers. The male provided a name other then his own as well. During the course of the investigation officers determined the identity of the male and learned that he was wanted on outstanding warrants for allegedly threatening a male and a female known to him (not domestic related). 28-year old Trevor Diboll of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm in relation to the warrants, one count of obstruct police, one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of resist police. The accused will appear in bail court at 10 am on the 8th of September.

There were two reports of bear sightings yesterday:

1) Around 11 am a bear was seen in the area of Old Garden River Road. As a result of the sighting City Police attended at Tarentorus Public School and advised them of the sighting. The bear was not seen at the time the officers were in the area. Last year officers from Community Services arranged for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tarentorus School to work together and participate in the Bear Alert program run by the MNR. Any schools in the area that wish to obtain information on dealing with bears in their school yards can contact the Ministry of Natural Resources locally at 705-949-1231.

2) Yesterday afternoon a bear was seen in the backyard of a residence on Fourth Line East between Old Goulais Bay Road and Great Northern Road.
