Impaired Driver Arrested On the 23rd of September at approximately 12:45 am, patrol officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding a possible impaired driver on Second Line West near Korah Road.
Impaired Driver Arrested
On the 23rd of September at approximately 12:45 am, patrol officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding a possible impaired driver on Second Line West near Korah Road. It is alleged that a witness called police after observing a red Plymouth van swerving in an out of the lanes, almost colliding with several other vehicles and failing to stop for a red light. Officers attended and located the van and the driver in the Mac’s Convenience store parking lot at Goulais Avenue and at the time he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver, 31 year-old Richard Rogers of 82 Central Street was subsequently arrested. It is further alleged that once at the police station, the accused refused to provide a breath sample and was found to be on a probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be good and not consume alcohol. As a result he has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one count of fail to provide breath sample and two counts of breach of probation. He is to appear in court on the 25th of October.

Domestic Related Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30 year-old male at a west end residence last night after responding to domestic dispute call. It is alleged that when officers ran a check on the accused they discovered he was on a recognizance court order with conditions that he not communicate with the victim, not attend at her residence and that also learned he had been staying at her residence and not living with his surety as directed to. As a result he was charged with three counts of breach of a release document. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35 year-old male at 12:55 pm yesterday at his residence and charged him with one count of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 21st of September the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s mother’s residence and while there a confrontation ensued with one of her family members and the accused slapped her in the face and broke her glasses. The accused is to attend in court on the 25th of October.

Break and Enter Reports
• Two residences on Grand Boulevard was entered during the morning hours of the 22cnd of September. A 52 inch Samsung Plasma television, a Blue Ray DVD player and cash was reported stolen from the homes.

Theft Reports
• Vehicles were entered or broken into on Bowker Street and in the 100 block of Landslide Road. Sunglasses, change and a wallet were reported stolen.
• A bike was reported stolen from Case Road.
