Evening Report On the 20Sep12 at 1220 hours police dealt with 44 year old Ronda Burns of 134 Gore St. during a police assistance call on Gore St. During the investigation it became apparent there were several outstanding arrest warrants for Burns.

On the 20Sep12 at 1220 hours police dealt with 44 year old Ronda Burns of 134 Gore St. during a police assistance call on Gore St. During the investigation it became apparent there were several outstanding arrest warrants for Burns. She was arrested on those warrants for fail to appear for prints (2 counts), fail to appear for court (2 counts), theft under $5,000 (2 counts) and possession of drugs. She will be in bail court tomorrow morning.

A vehicle was stolen from the 100 block of Plaintree Drive overnight.  Stolen is a 2008 Ford F150, Ontario licence plate AA66288 with a black tonneau cover.  Also stolen in the vehicle was a Bank of Montreal MasterCard, Bank of Montreal debit card, RBC debit card, HSBC debit card, driver’s license and passport. Also inside the box of truck was a Stihl grass trimmer, 5 gallon can of gas and a Scott fertilizer spreader.

 A vehicle was damaged at Superior Dodge dealership overnight.

A break and enter was reported on Forest Avenue. The back window was forced and entry gained through a bedroom.  Taken was a 32 inch flat screen TV, a 32 inch TV and an XBOX was found sitting at the backdoor in a duffle bag.

Officers are investigating an apparent arson of an abandoned vehicle in a parking lot in the 500 block of Second Line West.

Forged prescription

25 year old Adam Combs of Sault Ste Marie was arrested by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service fraud section on September the 19th for uttering a forged document and possession of stolen property. It is alleged Mr.Combs passed a forged prescription at a local drug store and also had a blank pad of scripts in his possession. He is to appear in Provincial Court on October the 23rd.

Breach of Probation

City Police officers attended to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre on September 19th and charged a 34 year old male inmate for breaching his court order conditions which prohibited him from  communicating with a female victim. He was able to call her from the Remand Centre on 4 separate occasions. He was also charged with 1 count of Breach of Probation for failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He will appear in Bail Court on September 20th.

Marihuana found

On September 19, 2012 the Sault Ste Marie Police Street Team Unit conducted marihuana eradication in the north west end of the city. While conducting the eradication officers seized 90 mature marihuana plants that were transplanted from an indoor grow to crown land. The estimated projected street value of the marihuana plants is $90,000.00.

Single vehicle collision

On the 20th of September in the early morning hours officers attended to the intersection of Northern Ave. and Great Northern Rd. regarding a single motor vehicle collision. There was substantial damage to a traffic light standard and the motor vehicle involved. Investigation revealed that 3 people fled the scene and that there were no injuries associated to this accident. Further investigation led police to charge 37 year old Kevin Cress of Edmonton Alberta with breaching conditions of an undertaking not to consume alcohol.
